Up in the magical skies, in heaven~
"Hey, remember that time you CHEATED ON YOUR WIFE AND PUBLISHED A BOOK ABOUT IT?!" Jefferson screeched, getting in Hamilton's face in yet another argument. Alex's mother only sighed, holding her head in her hands. "I thought I raised him better." She muttered. "Oh hey, I remember that." Toni said, crossing her arms as she put a hand on Alex's shoulder. HE gulped. "Be glad I was in a good mood." She hissed. "Your getting mad at me now?! Again!?" HE shrieked, throwing his hands in the air. "Oh, no. I've been mad for a very long time.Hell, I don't know how Eliza ever forgave you.I'm not even your wife and I won't. Watching your son cry as I dropped the pamphlet..Right after he aced his piano exam." She snarled, Alexander looking down as Jefferson grinned. "Please, Doll, tell me EVERYTHING." Jesus your gay." John shouted, making Toni snicker. "Fine. it's actually kinda funny."
Flashback~
"CONGRATULATIONS!" She heard someone scream, her eyes widening as she swooped up Philip and raced to the door. Angelica stormed out of Alexander's office, Eliza sobbing down the hall. "Mommy?" She set the boy down, running over the two. "What's wrong!? Eliza?! Angie?" Angelica was quick to throw her arms around the girl, holding onto her tightly. "Have you not heard?" She said quietly, the frenchie staring at her in confusion. "Heard what? You screaming at Alexander for being stupid?" She laughed, the laughter ceasing at the woman's serious face. "Then maybe it's better that way. Keep you out of this, keep you away from him." She hissed, the woman watching as Angelica walked over to Eliza. "Keep an eye on Philip, Toni." She nodded hesitantly, Philip hugging her legs as the two walked away. "Did mommy say what's going on?" She whispered in French, the boy shaking his head. She picked him up again, spotting the paper on the floor of the hallway. She raised an eyebrow, picking it up and handing it to Philip. "Read that for me hun, it must be the newspaper. Tell me if it's important." "Okay!" He giggled, the girl sitting him down in her lap at the piano bench. "Would you like to continue-" Philip let out a choked sob. "Philly? Philip, what's wrong?" She gently wiped the tears off of the young boy's face, the boy hugging her tightly. She gently pried the paper from his hands, reading it over. "Reynolds Pamphlet? By Alexander..Here, Philip, count with me. Deep Breaths." "B-but.." "No. Un.." She trailed off, reading the pamphlet carefully. "Un..Duex..Trois.." He stopped when he saw the woman's eyes water, quickly wiping them. "Do you feel better now, love? Can you breathe?" HE nodded, turning around in her lap and wiping away her tears. She smiled. "Your going to be one lady killer, Philly. Such a gentleman." "AUNTIE TONI!" She laughed, setting him down. She saw a flash behind the two, making her tilt her head. She could faintly see something reading over her shoulder, making her flinch back and hold Philip tightly. "Merde!" "AH!" The faint figure looked at her, giving her a small wave before leaving the room and heading upstairs. "Wait here." she growled, running up the stairs after the figure.
"WAIT! STOP!" "You..You can see me. Like this." She saw his mouth move, but no words came out. She titled her head as she carefully drew her gun, aiming it at his head with a glare. "Who are you, and why are you here. And good lord, why are you so hard to see?" She felt a gentle hand rest on her cheek, kissing the top of her head. "Wait here Annie." The breath caught in her throat, the figure fading through the wall and into Alex's office. "Jack?" She heard, being quick to listen through the door. "Alexander.." The voice. That voice was so familiar to her that she kicked herself for not being able to tell who it was. "Congratulations. You've invented a new kind of stupid..A damage you can never undo, kinda stupid." IT was on the tip of her tongue, leaning on the door heavily. "Like, open all the cages at the zoo kinda stupid. Truly, you didn't think this through? Kind stupid." "Laurens.." "What," She paused, replaying it in her mind. HE called her Annie, something only John would call her. He kissed her head like he used to do. He sounds like.."Johnny.." She contemplated charging in there, but waited at she thought about going to the asylum for thinking she was seeing and hearing Laurens. "Let's Review. You took a rumor..A few, maybe two people knew and refuted it by sharing an affair of which NO ONE HAS ACCUSED YOU. I begged you to take a break, you REFUSED TO." 'Go John!' She thought, listening to the lecture. A small smile came to her face, noticing the small window Alex had set up in his office wall cracked open. She peeked her head through, moving the curtains to see there, in all his glory, John Laurens lecturing Hamilton. "PHILIP." She whisper-shouted, darting down the stairs. "Wanna meet your uncle Laurens!?" "Huh!? Auntie Toni-AAH!" She swooped him up in her arms with a child like excitement, darting up the steps and letting him look through the window. "Woah..He looks so cool!" "I know! But you gotta be quiet..I just thought you'd like to meet him." "Thank you Auntie! But isn't he..Dead? Daddy says he's dead." "He..Do you know what a ghost is?" Philip nodded, then gasped. "UNCLE LAURENS IS A GHOST!" He shrieked, making her cover his mouth with a red face. The two turned to look at the window, making her freak out and grab Philip. She hopped over the railing with him in her arms and prayed she wouldn't break something, jumping off and landing on the steps just as she heard Alex's office door creak open. "Did he see you?" "That's not important, Alexander, don't change the subject. I'll deal with them later." "Them?" "Shut up." She saw John peek over the railing, the girl's face burning red at his smirk. Philip looked at John in awe, waving wildly as John quietly chuckled. He waved back, walking back into Alex's office and shutting the door. "C'mon Auntie! I wanna see what happens!" The girl was still in a daze, replaying the look on his face with a love sick grin. "God I missed that boy." She muttered in French. Philip gasped. "So he's your husband!" "Philip do you want Auntie to pass out? No, you don't, so stop." She helped the boy up the steps, seeing the window shut and locked. She groaned. "Oh, I can fix that!" "Huh?" Philip pulled a small hair clip out of his pocket, sticking it in the lock and fiddling with it. It popped open silently, the girl putting Philip on her shoulders. "That's my nephew! I'll give you candy later. Listen.." "So scared of what your enemies will do to you, you're the only enemy you ever seem to lose to! You know why Jefferson can do what he wants?! HE DOESN'T DIGNIFY SCHOOL YARD TAUNTS WITH A RESPONSE! SO YEAH! CONGRATULATIONS!" "Laurens.." Alex whimpered. "You've redefined your legacy! Congratulations!" "IT WAS AN ACT OF POLITICAL SACRIFICE!" Alexander shouted, Philip flinching at his father's tone. The french woman was casually running her hands through the young boys hair, listening carefully. "Sacrifice..?" John whispered, Alex's eyes widening as he realized it came out wrong. "J-" "I languished a loveless marriage in London, I lived only to read the letters. I look at you and think 'God, what have we done with our lives and what did it get us?' That doesn't wipe the tears or the years away, and I'm back in the city and I'm here to stay.." She watched John put a hand on Alex's cheek, Alexander staring at him. "You know what I'm here to do..?" "John.." John pulled away as Alexander tried to hug him, making Alexander's face break into an even more depressed one. "I'm not here for you.." He paused.
