Sneaking past the guards wasn't easy. Especially since they were looking for me. Climbing out of the mote was harder though.
I was so sore I almost couldn't make it to the trees. My only problem was getting past border patrol. And then the wall.
I was shivering and breathing harshly. I had only just stopped running and my body was wanting to shut down.
I watched my feet as my footing faltered. I fell face first into the grass.
'Get up.'
I nodded. My shivering sore arms pushed against the ground. My vision blurred. I can't.
'Now. You can. You want to.'
I shook my head. I did, but my entire mind was against it. And my body seems to agree. So I lied down. And wrapped my arms around my knees.
'Save yourself. Don't be weak! Survive!'
I can't. I just can't.
'Who's asking! Get your fat ass up and run! Or are you a low life right beneath a mans foot! You think you have a CHOICE!' It wasn't a question. But a demand. 'GET UP YOU WORTHLESS -'
I sprang to my feet instantly. Not letting the stupid conversation continue. White and black spots filled my vision.
My body complely collapsed. I rolled down a hill. Sticks and thorns attacked my skin, not faltering.
Every time I thought I was slowing down, I hit a rock, when I thought I was finally sucking in air I was breathing dirt.
My head smacked right into another stone and I was out.
Blurr.
Burning.
Blood.
The sting.
The regret.
The failure.
That's what I was. That's what I was born as. Used, only for the pleasure of the people of in this world to look down upon.
Just so they could feel good about themselves. The reassurance that there is someone below there feet. Someone they could step on.
Someone they could squeeze the life out of just to let go before their gone and let it back in. Just so it could start all over again. All the pain.
When you see yourself in pain, and feel it. You think, I'm the only one. But when you see ones of your low status, you feel as though, you never wanted it to happen to them. Just you. Save them the pain, and grief.
But no. No matter what you do. No matter what you say. You mean nothing to the men above you. You mean nothing to the ones who know, and the ones who wish it was them in your place.
No, one really wishes that. Not really. But what if they did? Would you be happier? Would you still be in this position? Maybe.
Who knows. Who cares. Its now, not later, not tomorrow, not soon.
Now.
That's what I knew. That's all I could think about. What's happening now?
My body was numb. Yet my head pounded. And a cool breeze blew on my exposed body. Why? I don't know.
I couldn't see a thing. But I was starving. I was thirsty. I was weak. I couldn't find my own mind in my lost body. It was new.
But it wasn't scary. It was comforting, yet full of hidden fears I was yet to see. I just didn't know how soon that would be. But I could feel it approaching, along with a light.
A glow crawled across the rocks and soon enough he appeared before me. My head was heavy, my hair tangled.
I lifted my head just enough to see that man from the carriage. The maids called him Lord, or King Ardon.
I dreaded that name now. I grew to hate it just like everything in this world.
But spending my time hating the people who give me those reasons was not worth it. Only revenge would taint the blood rushing and flowing in my ears. Only his blood. King Ardon's.
He was a man of many words and few meanings. It made him a naive, and conceded person. He thought he could break me. But he's fixing to figure out how flexible I am.
I snarled at him. My gums tingling with the growing teeth.
I had developed new habits over the week I had been chained to these walls. And I could use them if they would just get close enough.
"Well, its time my lady. I hope you enjoy." Ardon smirked evily. As soon as he arrived he was gone. Leaving me to the guards to watch me that he had brought worth him.
Pain erupted everywhere. Not just my arm, or my head. Every inche of my body. I felt both arms crack. Just the sound alone made me scream.
Not seconds later every bone in my body cracked and shifted. Each movement taking yet another drop of my voice. Taking it away.
My skin stretched and tingled. Making me hiss and choke on spit. My jaw cracked and reformed. My eyes stung and head itched all at once. My teeth felt as though they were being ripped out.
And soon my screams and plead's turned to hissing, growling, and roars. My body expanded, and stretched in painful angles, and directions.
My bones only stopping for others to attach. I felt it. It caused tears to fall and even after it stopped my body wouldn't move.
It was like I had no muscles in my body. Only sore, aching skin. But now it was an irritating itch. One I couldn't scratch at. One I couldn't get away from.
My mind went black, and dark.
I woke up with my body chained to the wall by my hands once again. Looking up I saw six men, the king, and his skinny, pale faced steward. I had grown to hate him just as much as the king.
Hanging just inches from the ground I struggled to keep my torn skin from tearing more off my wrists.
Ardon nodded to the commander. He stepped towards me placing the torch in a holder beside me.
"I hope your ready. This will hurt." He said it in plain mockery. A smirk on his pale lips.
I leaned towards him and his fowl breath. "I was born from pain. Try me!" I spit in his face.
"We'll see about that." Something told me this was only the beginning.
My head was nocked backwards by his gloved fist. Smacking vicously against the wall.
