Alex and I decided to go to the zoo. We walked hand in hand during the walk. I was used to a boy/boy relationship. People kept telling us how they support us together, ship us together, and some even shouted "Gay!" at us. I didn't care. I just gripped onto my new boyfriend's hand tighter. He looked down at me and gave a small, knowingly smile.
When we got to the zoo, I rushed to the first animals I saw: Lizards. I liked how they were considered descendants of dragons. If I ever had one, I'd name it Frank-- after my friend's dog. As Alex ran to catch up with me, I sprinted to the next exhibit. By noon, Alex and I were hungry.
We sat down at a table, and snacked on Doritos and drank water. We talked about each animal. We decided to head out, and Alex kissed my cheek at the exit.
"Mommy! Mommy, look!" A little girl pointed, causing Alex to break away, "That guy kissed another guy! Does that mean I might kiss a girl?"
Her mom glared at us.
