The next day after the whole 'male nurse' fiasco I finally got to go home. The doctor said that if I went home that I may gain my memories back quicker instead of sitting around the hospital room just waiting. When my parents were signing my paperwork for my release I saw somebody I knew from somewhere. "He looks oddly familiar", I thought to myself as I found myself walking over towards him.
He apparently heard my approaching footsteps and looked up and when he saw me he said, "Amy? What are you doing here is everything ok?" I must have looked confused and as I was fixing to ask "Do I know you from somewhere?" he said, "Don't you remember me? Christopher McBride. We go to the same school." I just looked at him and started to say "No I don't remember you sorry.", but then my parents called for me telling me it's time to go home.
I didn't see him until the next day at school. When I saw him I walked up to him, smiled and said, "Looks like we do go to the same school!" He just looked at me very confused then asked, "Do I know you?" A puzzled look crossed my face as I walked away from him and back towards Elana and Hannah (Alaska was on an airplane headed for Korea. She was on a family vacation).
"Um Amy? Why were you talking to the most popular guy in school?", Elana asked me with a look of shock written all over her face. "Who? Christopher McBride? Because I met him yesterday while I was getting checked out of the hospital. He introduced himself to me because I couldn't remember him.", I told her as if she should have already known. If this were a cartoon their jaws would have hit the floor.
"H-He t-talked to you?", Hannah asked, "He NEVER talks to the odd crowd. Are you POSITIVE that it was him?" I nodded and then the bell rang for first period. As I was walking to Advanced English somebody pulled me inside the janitors closet. As I was telling myself to stay calm and don't panic the lights came on and Christopher was standing in front of me.
"WHAT THE FLUFF MAN?!", I yelled at him. "SHUT UP! If we get caught in here it won't be good.", he whispered to me. "Oh don't worry we won't get caught because I'm leaving.", I said to him as I headed for the door. He stepped in m way suddenly which made me run into his chest. "No I need to apologize for earlier. I'm sorry I pretended that I didn't know you, but you gotta understand I have a reputation. If I get seen talking to you my reputation will be ruined.", he said while using all kinds of hand gestures. I nodded my head and said, "You're right I do understand."
"I knew you'd under-", but before he could finish I raised my hand and continued saying, "I understand that your a spoiled brat who cares more about his reputation than his 'friends'. I thought we were friends, but I guess I was terribly wrong.", I finished then giggled. The look on his face was PRICELESS I even took my phone out and took a picture. Then, I walked out leaving him astounded, and ran to class.
After a long day of school I met up Hannah and Elana. "HEY GIRLS WAIT UP!", I yelled to them as they were walking away. While I wasn't paying attention to the ground. Then the most craziest thing happened. I tripped. As I imagined my future of having a bruised and scraped face I felt somebody's hand grab my arm before my face connected with concrete.
"O.MY.GERSH THANK YOU I ALMOST DIED. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THAN-", I stopped mid-sentence and my face must have looked hilarious because there Christopher was laughing at me and taking multiple pictures of me with his phone. He was doing what I did to him earlier in the janitors closet. I just turned and started walking away. "What? No more thank yous? I thought I 'saved your life'!", he yelled as I ran to try to catch up with Elana and Hannah. "I'm giving you a chance to save YOUR life by leaving me the hell alone!", I yelled as I turned around and gave him a smile and a wave.
I ended up walking home by myself after that. Elana and Hannah ended up going to Hannah's house to finish their group project. Hannah literally live like to houses down from the school, but I still don't understand why she walks to my house every morning to walk with me. I was so deep in thought that I didn't see the car that was speeding up the road."AMY WATCH OUT!", I heard somebody yell behind me which made me lose my train of thought. I looked up just in time to see the car coming right at me.
