CHAPTER 4
ALYSSA:
I began to tell him what happened.
"There was this girl that I didn't recognize and she was telling me about how she's all yours and things and threatening me. Then she slammed me into the side of a wall and that's how I got these bruises and scrapes and she kicked me and I don't even know who she is."
I stopped he didn't have to know any more.
"I'm so sorry Alyssa."
"Why are you sorry this isn't your fault?"
"Yes Alyssa. Yes it is. It is my fault."
"No it's not Matthew don't say that."
"You don't get it. It was my ex girlfriend Kelsey. Remember those footsteps and that phone call that was her. I ignored it at first because I didn't think she would hurt you."
His eyes started to water.
Mine did too.
"Matthew?"
He didn't answer.
"Matthew?"
"What?"
"Matthew!"
He looked up at me. Finally.
"I don't care who she is Matthew. I love you. I have always loved you from the first second I saw you. Nothing will come between us. No matter how hard this gets and how heavy the bare. I love you Matthew. Only you." I didn't even realize I was sobbing.
"I love you too. Nothing will change that. I will always love you."
We ended up watching movies on his couch. I didn't like the movie he picked but he sure did love it so it didn't matter. On the boring parts I snuggled up to him and closed my eyes.
"You can fall asleep of you want to Alyssa."
"I can't Matthew, I have to leave in a couple minutes."
"Oh right I forgot about that."
MATTHEW:
I hate it when she has to leave. It's not her fault though. I love her so much but I can't stand it when she has to go. I love the way she calls me Matthew instead of Matt. Most people call me Matt but I love the way she calls me Matthew. I spent the rest of the night thinking about her and exactly what happened tonight. It was confusing.
