Just Friends? (ON HOLD)

Chapter 9

-Still Louis' POV-

Two weeks have past and I haven't seen or heard much on Dani since the night of her party.

Harry has been extremely quiet and depressed lately. He doesn't talk much and won't go out anywhere with anyone. The most he'll do is go out for occasional walks, alone. Ive never seen him so upset before. I have got to find out what's bothering him... maybe I can help.

I step outside to see Harry sitting there, alone, silent, with his forehead resting in the palms of his hands as he just stares at the ground.

I sit next to him.

"Go away Lou." he says quietly.

I sigh. "Not a chance mate. Something's been bothering you for the past two weeks and I'm going to find out what it is."

"Louis, please?"

"Look Harry, maybe I can help, just give the the chance."

He turns his head away from me but I catch sight of a tiny tear rolling down his face. I turn him toward me and hug him tight. To my surprise he hugs me back and cries into my shoulder.

A few minutes pass and he pulls away, wipes the tears from his green eyes and says through sniffles, "She told me she couldn't trust me."

"What?" I respond shocked, "Why would she say that?"

"She heard me tell you her and I were just friends... but when she was leaving I kissed her and told her I loved her... she knew I was lying to one of you and thought it was her... I would never lie to her..." he explains as tears begin to roll down his face again, "I really do love her Lou."

"Have you tried talking with her about it?" I ask trying to calm him down.

"I've tried everything, she won't answer my calls or my texts, and when I see her in person she just avoids me..."

I feel as I'm going to cry as well. I can't stand seeing my best friend like this. Suddenly a thought pops into my head and I realize something awful, this is all my fault. If I hadn't tried to push them together like that non of this would have happened. I have to fix this mess I've made.
