Just Friends? (ON HOLD)

Chapter 12

-Dani's POV-

I have a really good time with Niall. He's so funny and so sweet. He completely takes my mind off of Harry. I feel truly happy for the first time in weeks.

After eating and talking for a bit i catch Niall staring into my eyes. He notices and shakes his head. He suddenly gets up, pays, apologizes, and leaves.

"That was weird." I think aloud.

-Niall's POV-

I jog out of the restaurant.

No no no, this isn't happening... I'm not falling in love with Danielle. No, I couldn't. Harry would KILL me! Well at least she's not in love with me... I hope. That would kill Harry before he could kill me. That would NOT be good! I just have to keep our little hang out a secret.

-Dani's POV-

I just blow off Niall's weird behavior and gather my stuff and leave the restaurant. On my way down the street I come across a familiar curly haired teen. He sees me and bites his lip. I turn away and keep walking.

"Your looking happy today..." he comments as he passes me.

"Yes," I respond. "I had a really nice time with Niall."

He stops in his tracks.

"Niall?"

"Ya," I begin, "blonde, Irish, plays guitar..."

"I know who he is, but..."

He gives me a slightly suspicious look.

"Niall texted me to meet him at the mall. I wasn't in a very good mood but he was really sweet and cheered me up." I explain.

His green eyes begin to water and his expression darkened.

"Niall..."

"Harry...? Are... are you ok?" I ask concerned.

He hangs his head and answers, "No..."

He turns and takes off down the road.

What is with people running away today?

-Harry's POV-

I run back to the flat as fast as I can. Sure enough Niall is there when I arrive.

"Niall!" I say walking in.

"Hey mate!" he greets me a bit too innocently.

"Niall, what were you doing with Danielle today?"

He looks at me surprised.

"Um... how do you-"

"Niall" I cut him off, "Do you like Dani?"

"I- uh..." is his response.

"I knew it! And she like you too doesn't she?"

"No! At least... I don't think so..."

I growl in frustration as I pace around the room running my fingers through my hair.

Niall gets up from the couch and extends his arm to me, "Listen, Harry..."

"No you listen Niall!" I snap, "How can you do this?! I love Danielle! You know that! It was hard enough to know that she didn't trust me but now one of my best friends is in love with her and inviting her to go to the shopping center! And she probably likes you back! At least she can trust you..."

"Harry... I-" Niall pleads on the verge of tears.

"I don't want to hear it Niall!"

*Knock Knock*

-Dani's POV-

"Hello?" I say poking my head in the door, "Niall?"

I walk in and see Harry and Niall standing in the living room; Harry obviously angry but also slightly sad, and Niall almost in tears.

"Guys..." I begin hesitantly, "what's going on in here?"

"Nothing." Harry says eying Niall and storming out of the room.

Niall just stands there as if in shock. I'm not sure what happened just a minute ago but I do know that there was some sort of disagreement between the two boys.

Niall sniffles, obviously trying to hide his years and stay strong. I do what Niall did for me earlier. I approach him and hug him tight. He hugs me back; wrapping his strong arms around me and burying his face in my neck.

-Harry's POV-

I look through my slightly cracked open door. I see Niall and Dani in a tight embrace. My heart sinks. She does like him. Perfect. This is my fault. If I would have just told her how I felt in the first place I would have never lied to Louis and Dani could trust me... good job Styles
