Background
Gwyn is a lot older than she looks. She works as a guardian for the avatar children. The children omit a magic essence which she absorbs to fuel her magic and causes the children to age like humans. However, a few years back, Gwyn was blacklisted from service whilst an investigation was carried out and she was the main suspect, however no crime could be proven and the case of the missing mermaid remains unresolved. During this ban Gwyn aged a little. When the Avatars current Fae is killed they are desperate for a replacement and give Gwyn a second chance with Mariah.
Weaknesses
Meddling: Gwyn is so desperate to keep Mariah safe that she meddles in her life and sometimes her spells cause Mariah more drama than they solve.
Strengths
Magic: Gwyn's magic actually does a lot of good too.
Foresight: Gwyn uses her crystal ball mainly to be able to see glimpses into the future. She is then able to prepare for what is coming or attempt to change the probable future.
Protective: Gwyn cares for Mariah as if she was her own and it makes it easier to be protective of her. She is not looking forward to the day she has to return her to her real parents but hopefully by then she will have gathered enough magic to return.
