No matter how much I twisted and turned I couldn't sleep tonight. The room was very dark .Looking out the window I could see the moon being obscured by storm clouds. Great. Way to go for the weather to match my mood I thought. To top it off Jo's incessant snoring was a tad handful to deal with. But these weren't the things that had made me stay up. Just as I was about to sleep I felt a chill down my spine .There was a very weird feeling ,a feeling I couldn't shake off .I didn't understand what it was but it had me up. I had been sitting near the window when I saw it.

A dark shadow moving across the ceiling. The room suddenly went more dark and whatever the thing was that was crawling across the ceiling made a horrible rasping noise .My heart began to quake with fear at this otherworldly noise coming from this entity. I wanted to run over to Jo and wake her up and leave the room when I was struck with a horrible realization: My body was paralyzed. I tried to move my body ... my hand... my neck but I wasn't able to."jjjj ... jjjo .... Joooo " I wailed but my cries were too feeble as if something was blocking my throat. A sudden wave of cold air washed over me but there was no wind coming from outside.

Just then the creature laughed a horrible laugh as if an answer to my guess that the cause of my sudden paralysis was no mystery. That thing whatever it was, was keeping me in place .It wanted to harm me... it wanted me ... I realized when I could see its form move more away from Jo's and towards me slowly.

Just then the moon emerged from the clouds and shone its light over the window illuminating the horror in front of me "Aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhh ... no no nooooooooooo ..........I wailed suddenly being able to scream as I saw the entity in front of me. It had long black hair and sharp fangs for teeth .Its complexion was a ghostly pale but it had no arms or legs and was floating in thin air .Where there should have been eyes were nothing but empty sockets.

It was not only feet away from me and it smiled before it tried to possess my body. My body started to twitch on its own violently ....

Just then I felt some warmth wash over my body like sunlight except there was no light.

I realized something was near the window and then I saw a familiar pair of green eyes stare at me.

He stared back at me intently as if telling me something silently. Then his eyes moved to the thing in front of me and he stared back at the creature with so much hate. He climbed into the room slowly and stood next to me.

He raised his right hand toward the creature and before I knew it fire started to erupt from his hand and on the creature .The creature wailed a horrible wail before dissolving into nothingness as if it never had been there in the first place.

The sudden chill in the room had now disappeared and was replaced by humidity. Moonlight shone brighter than before and the storm clouds gone showing a clear night sky.

The weird mark on my leg was burning painfully but I was too distracted to complain.

"Thank you for saving my life again I mumbled. Our last encounter hadn't gone so well with me trying to injure him. Although I hadn't tried to on purpose, rather my body had had a mind of its own back then. "You seem to come in the nick of time when ever anything weird happens to me" I appreciated. "By the way what was that new thing that tried to kill me?" I asked.

"It didn't try to kill you ... it wanted your soul ... "he said
