The day I met James Mcvey

Chapter 9

Connors P.O.V

I woke up and rubbed my eyes. James was already awake and sat by Zoes bed again. "James how long have you been awake?"I was a bit concerned he hadn't slept at all. "Umm I woke up like an hour ago about 7:30." He said. I got up and stretched before walking round to where he was sat. The door opened and two nurses came in. "We've come to bring her round so if you wouldn't mind just moving over there." We both got up and walked to the otherside of the room. James watched with his head in his hands. I put my hand on his shoulder and watched. They slowly tried to bring her round. Then I saw her eyelids twitch. Zoe started to open her eyelids slowly. Her eyes were know fully open. She was confused, the nurses calmed her down and told her what had happened they then left. "J..j.James?" She asked. Zoe was still a bit confused and tired. "I'm here Zo." He told her. He went over and stroked her hand. She tried to give him a hug but she was too weak. He leaned over and gave her a hug instead."James I'm just going to ring Brad and tell him and Tris Zoes is awake." I was about to go and call him in the corridor when Zoe called my name. I turned round. "Thank you." She said timidly. I smiled at her before walking out the door. I knew what she was thanking me for. Being there for James and helping him through. I called Brad. "Hey Brad good news she's awake and talking. He and Tris were really happy. He said they'd come down soon. I went back to James and Zoe. James was sat on the end of her bed rubbing his hand on her leg. I sat in chair. "So Zo you gave us quite a shock,don't do it again you hear me." I told her. She just smiled weakly. "Con, I'm just going to find a doctor do you mind staying here." James asked me. "That's fine James. James walked out the door. "Connor, thank you I don't know how James would of coped without you." She told me. "I'll always protect James and help him in anyway I can." Zoe reached out and held my hand. I hugged her. "Anytime Zo anytime." I told her. James came back. "I've checked with the doctor he said that you should be ok to be discharged tomorrow. Because your injuries aren't too serious." James said sounding pretty happy. "Well I can't walk, write or anything that involves more than one arm but I'm feeling pretty good so I guess I've got that." Zoe said in a jokey way. "Knock knock." I turned and saw Brad with Tris. "Brad, Tris it's good to see you." Zoe said. She tried to sit up she looked in a bit of pain though. James helped her sit up. Brad went over and hugged her. "Look I've been thinking." Brad said. "Well you've broken your leg badly and your wrist and arm. So it's going to be at least 4 months until you can do things." He continued. "And believe me you won't want a 4 hour journey with those injuries, so I was wondering if you and James wanted to move in with me." Brad finished. They both looked a bit surprised. "I know it's quite a big change but then I'd be able to look after you and James, and Connor lives quite close too and there's Jesse. So what do you say? He asked. "Well I mean if your sure I'd love too." Zoe said. "Me too" agreed James. "I told you it'd be fine." I said as I nudged James. We both began laughing. Zoe Brad and Tristan were smirking at us. "Jonnor." They all said. Then we all burst out laughing. It was nice to see James smiling again.
