This chapter is told in third person.

As The Hawking discussed what they were going to do, the door to the house swung open. The Hawking looked over to see Olivia and Hedwig step out. They glared at the team as they cackled.

"Well, well!" Sam said, stepping in front of his team. "If it isn't the owl and the robin! How nice to see you!" "Why have you come here?" Olivia asked the falcon. "Relax, we aren't here for you. We actually need Experiment 1. Our trackers picked up a disturbance around here, so she has to be here."

"Well, she's not! You can see yourselves out now!"

"We are not leaving until we get Experiment 1! Hand her over now, or prepare to get hurt!"

Olivia took a swift kick to his face, causing him to fall to the ground. The Hawking gasped as they looked at their leader. He put his fingers up to his nose, realizing he was bleeding. He looked at Olivia and whispered, "Get them."

The Hawking took immediate action. Fern went for Olivia, tackling her to the ground. Olivia kicked and fought while Fern tried to choke her. Olivia kicked Fern in the stomach, making her fall back as the robin stood up and ran for the door. She poked her head inside, spotting Lucas and sleeping Star.

"Go, now!" Olivia exclaimed as she ran to help Hedwig. Lucas nodded his head and stepped outside. As soon as his foot touched the grass, he took off like a rocket. He grinned to himself as he got away, until-

"I don't think so, Sparrow!" Something grasped Lucas's ankle. Lucas looked down to see Sam, tightly gripping his ankle as he pulled him down. Lucas struggled to fly off. Sam threw him to the ground. Lucas has an extra tight hold on Star.

"There she is!" Sam yelled to his team. They look over at Lucas to see he was holding Experiment 1. The Hawking released Olivia and Hedwig from their grasp and stood over Lucas. Lucas growled as he held his sister tightly.

"What do you want from her?!" he yelled. "She's only a child! How could she POSSIBLY be of any concern to the Lab?!" Sam chuckled as he put his black boot on Lucas's face. Fern and Axel step on both of his wings, crushing some of his small bones.Lucas groans in pain. Sam chuckled lightly.

"Secret Hawking business, Starlow." he said, bending down. He struggled to grab Star from him, but eventually did. Sam handed the starling off to Canto. "You're lucky we didn't kill you." Sam whispered in Lucas's ear. "Next time, we won't go so easy on you!" He did one more hard stomp to his head and turned to his team.

He gave a signal, and The Hawking started flying away from the house. Star opens her eyes to see she was being held by Canto. She starts to kick and scream as she flaps her wings rapidly.

"Who are you?!" Star yelled. "Where is my big brother?!" She looks over Canto's shoulder to see her brother on the ground, holding his left shoulder. "BIG BROTHER!" she yelled. "HELP ME!" There was nothing Lucas could do. He couldn't fly, he couldn't call for help, he couldn't even sit up. He listened to his sister's voice get more faint as he blacked out.

Lucas became conscious when the Sun peaked it's head out from behind the mountains. He is still on the grassy meadow, and he sees Hedwig fanning him with his giant owl wings as Olivia was relaxing his wings bones. Lucas groaned as he held his head and sat up.

"What...What happened?!" Lucas asked. "Dude, you were out cold for two hours!" Hedwig said. "Are you alright?" Olivia said to him. He groaned as he held his shoulder once more. "Yeah, I should be fine...Wait!" He jumped up and looked around. "W-Where's Star?!" He asked frantically. Hedwig and Olivia exchanged looks. Olivia put a hand on his shoulder.

"She's gone. The Hawking took her."

Lucas's heart sank as he heard the words slip from her mouth. He was breathless. He was speechless. He felt his soul crumble as he fell to his knees and breathed heavily.

"Star..." he said to himself. "I...I couldn't protect her..." He sobbed quietly as he hugged himself. This was the first time he had ever felt this lonely.

"Lucas..." Olivia said, sitting with him. "It's gonna be okay. We'll get her ba-" "IT'S MY FAULT STAR GOT CAPTURED!" Lucas yelled, slamming his fist on the ground. Olivia sighed and put her hand on his back. "Lucas, relax. Everything is going to be fi-" "NO, YOU KNOW WHAT?!" Lucas yelled, standing up and glaring at his friends. "IT'S NOT GONNA BE OKAY! IT'S MY FAULT! I DIDN'T PROTECT MY SISTER! YOU KNOW WHAT? FUCK YOU!"

Lucas shot into the air and flew away from the house. His tears began to run more as he thought about it. He kept taking deep breaths to calm himself down. Was it really his fault?

Around 5:00 p.m., Lucas walked back to the house, ashamed of himself. After what he said to Olivia, he felt like she left the house altogether. He took a deep breath and opened up the front door.

Turns out, Olivia didn't leave. She, Hedwig, and Avery were sitting in the living room, waiting for Lucas. When he entered the front door, the group stood up and gave Lucas a soft look.

"Look, guys..." Lucas said, walking towards them. "Liv, I'm really sorry for what I said back there, and-" He was interrupted by a hug from Olivia. She held him tightly as she silently forgave him. She pulled back, putting her hands on his shoulders. "We're gonna find Star." she said to him. "We'll make The Hawking pay for what they did to us. What they did to you." She poked his chest and giggled. Lucas chuckled and sat with the group.

"While I was gone, I came up with a plan." Lucas explained to the group. "Olivia and I will fly into the city and find the Lab." "What about us?!" Avery said, taking Hedwig's hand. "Because!" Lucas said sternly. "This is going to be very dangerous. Since you've been lacking on your training, Avery, I can't let you go. You'll die." Avery slumped in his seat and growled.

"Well, why can't I go?" Hedwig wondered. "I need you to stay here and make sure Avery nor The Hawking tear this place apart." Hedwig nodded and shot a look at Avery. "You have my word, Lucas." said Hedwig with a bow.

"Olivia and I will set off on our journey tomorrow." Lucas stood up and spread his wings. "First, we must tidy up and get some rest."

As Lucas washed some dishes, he looked out of the tiny window that hung above the kitchen sink. He watched as the Sun went down below the mountains. He pictured The Hawking, flying over the mountains with Star in their arms. He pictured her face, eyes all teared up, smile cracked into a frown, eyes droopy, like a dog's.

He tried not to cry himself as rinsed the dishes off and put them on a rack. He dried his hands and wished everyone goodnight. He prepared himself for bed. As he layed in the dark, trying to sleep, he imagined himself and Olivia, saving Star from the people at the Lab, especially...

Scientist Albert Hall.
