Greetings. My name is Olivia Woods. I am a robin, and I have a secret. I'm in love. He is very handsome, smart, and will do anything to protect us. He is our leader. And he will always be our leader.
I swung the duffel bag over my shoulder as I caught eye of something on my dresser. It was an old photo in a cracked picture frame. In the photo was a man and a young girl, both with wings. I took two fingers and rubbed them on the face of the man. The man in the picture was the best man to ever live. He had mid length orange hair, blue eyes, and a gorgeous set of wings, which were a rich dark brown color. He was my idol.
He was my father.
I was trapped in my own thoughts until a voice startled me. "You alright, Liv?" the voice said. I turned to my bedroom door to see Lucas, leaning on the door.
Oh, Lucas...
"Yeah, I'm fine." I said, clearing my throat. I tried not to turn red as I walk over to him. He gives me a big smile. I sigh as I picture us together...Oh, get your head out of the clouds, Olivia. You, him, never going to happen...
I added my thought to my mental folder of desires as we make our way down the stairs. Avery and Hedwig were outside, waiting to bid us farewell. We walk outside. As I talked to the boys, Lucas stood a good distance from us, watching the sky. We all noticed this, and I went up to him.
"Lucas?" I ask him, putting my hand on his back. "Is everything...okay?" He looked down at me, startling me for a second. "Oh, sorry." Lucas said to me. "I guess I'm just...lost in my thoughts, I guess." He smiles at me and puts a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry about me."
With that, he passed me and started to talk to the boys. His sentence repeated in my head, saying, Don't worry about me, don't worry about me. To be honest, I was worried. A lot.

"I hope you find her." Hedwig said into my ear as I hugged him. I pulled away and took his hands. "We will. Don't worry." I said to him. Avery came up to me and hugged me as well. "Please bring her back." he said. "I miss her so much..." I grin as I bend down to him. "We will bring her home. In the meantime, try to catch up on your flight training. Hedwig will help you." I look up at Hedwig, and he nods."Well, let's get going." a voice said. I look above me to see Lucas, standing over me. I blush lightly as I stand up and pat Avery's head. "Goodbye, guys!" I said to the boys. They waved us off as we spread our wings and flew towards the mountains.
"So, Luke..." I said to my partner, who flew beside me. "Where are we headed?" "Well..." he said. "Since it was The Hawking who took Star, I figure she's at the Lab, so we should go there." I stop in my tracks. The Lab?! There is no way I am going back to that hellhole!
Lucas saw me stop and flew over to me. "What's the matter?" he asked me. I didn't want to tell him the real reason why I didn't want to go back there, so I made up an excuse.
"Um...you know, it's getting late, and I am...really tired..." I let out a fake yawn. "We should just, you know, stop for camp tonight." He contemplated for a moment, then took a look around the trees below us. "Oh!" he exclaimed, pointing to an open area. "There's a campsite down there. We can stay there for tonight." Lucas took a nose dive, going faster than ever. Before he could crash to the ground, he spread his wings and flew so fast and so far, I couldn't see him. I chuckle as I watch him disappear. "Showoff." I say to myself.
I let my feet touch the ground before setting my bag down and plopping into the large metal chairs near a fire pit. I groan as I sit loosely. I sat that way until Lucas comes back with wood in his arms. "I found some firewood." Lucas said as he set the wood in the pit. After that, he came and sat by me. I sat upright and put my hands in my lap. "I have the matches..." I say, pulling out a box of matches from my jacket pocket. He happily takes the box and pulls one out. He struck one and threw it at the wood. The wood went up in flames almost immediately.

Lucas played his harmonica as we both sat around the sizzling campfire. I focused my eyes on him as I listened to each note he played. When he finished the riff he was playing, he pulled the harmonica away from his mouth and took a large breath."Whew! This has been a hell of a day." he said as he chuckled. I laughed along with him. "Yeah, this day was something." I added. "But as soon as we rescue Star, things will be normal again." Lucas continued while poking a stick into the fire.
"Yeah.....normal....."
"Are you alright, Liv?"
He put a hand on my shoulder. I shudder as I look at him.
"Erm...well...yes...everything is great..."
"No, Liv, what's wrong?
" Well, it's just...I don't know, it's...just...well..."
"Ooooooh, I see what's going on!"
My heart almost stopped when he said that. "Oh, do ya, now?"
"Yes I do! You're worried about the boys!"
That's the part where I almost cried. He thought I was worried about Avery and Hedwig? I guess he was right. He is blind.
"Oh, yeah...Yeah, that's what...That's what it is..."
I stood up and walked to the side of the tent, arms crossed. Lucas saw me and followed , grasping my shoulder. "Was that not it?" he asked. "Are you upset about what I said the other day?" I got so aggravated that I spun around and yelled at him.
"No, Lucas! I just hate that even when the signs and the hints are in front of you, you are TOO BLIND to see what the big picture is! I guess you were right. You ARE blind, you stupid sparrow!"
I shoved him as I went inside the tent and grabbed a pillow. I layed down as I clung to the pillow and cried. I just wanted him to see how much he means to me...
The tent opened a few moments later. I listened to him zip the tent back up and crawl towards me. He sat on his knees beside me as he rubbed my arm.
"Olivia..." he said. "Sit up. I have something to give to you." Even though a part of me wanted to stay down, I obeyed the command and sat up, facing him. He pushed some of the orange hair that fell loose from my tight ponytail behind my ear as he looked into my eyes. "I think you have finally cleared up the road signs for me..." he whispered.
It didn't start hot and heavy. At first, the kiss was very soft and sweet. He held the side of my face as each moment of the kiss passed by. In each moment, the kiss would become more intense. First it was soft. Then we started to part our mouths. That was when our tongues came in contact. They didn't part since the connection.
Soon we were making out very sloppily. Our tongues we're swirling in unison as he bit my lip. I let out a whimper and a moan. After a few minutes, he pulled back for air. We both panted and looked into each other's eyes. "That was..." I started. "Intense?" "Yeah. Didn't know you had it in you, Starlow." We shared a chuckle as we sat there, catching our breaths.
"I am sorry about what I said back there." I said to him. He looked at me with soft eyes and smiled. "I know you didn't mean it." Lucas said, grabbing my arm. He took my arm and put it over his shoulder. "There is no need to apologize." I felt my air supply get smaller and smaller as he leaned towards me, causing me to fall back. He did this until I was laying down. He came closer to my ear.
"What exactly are you trying to tell me?" he whispered into my ear. My heart stopped as my face turned red and I stuttered out the words. "I...I love you...Lucas Starlow..." "I love you too, Olivia Woods." he replied as he layed beside me. I snuggle closer to him, wrapping my arms around his torso. He pulled me closer to him and covered us up with a blanket. I closed my eyes that night, close to him with a grin on my face. I fell asleep to the music of his heartbeat.
Bump-bump, bump-bump, bump-bump.
