Shaina's POV

I stood alone out on the balcony of my hotel room as I breathed in the chilly nighttime air of Denver. I held my coat firmly against my body and stared out into the endless array of cars and buildings and city lights.

I really should move out here.

Suddenly my phone started vibrating. I pulled it out my back pocket and looked at the caller ID, seeing that it was one of my guys that I sent out a couple hours ago. I accepted the call and pressed the phone to my ear.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hey. Listen I was following them then your girl just swerved off the highway. I don't know where they're at but I've lost them." Came the voice from the other side of the call. I become confused by what they just said.

"She what?"

"Don't worry boss. They're ok. They just swerved off on a ramp and by the time I noticed, it was too late."

I mentally face palmed myself and sighed heavily.

"I give you idiots one job. One job to just follow a car around and you somehow manage to fuck that up!" I spit into the phone. "What the hell did you do? Run her off the road?!"

There is an uncomfortable silence on the other end of the line.

I rub my temple and close my eyes in frustration.

"You're on thin ice B. I'm serious about getting my woman back. I'll happily cut you out of the picture if this continues to be a problem."

"That won't be necessary boss. I promise it won't happen again. I'll figure out where they are. Just give me a couple hours." B pleaded, causing me to roll my eyes.

"You've got 4 hours to figure out where they are. They could be on their way out of the state by now but you said you'll figure it out right? Try not to fuck up this time."

I ended the call and and shoved it in my pocket.

I swear if you want something done, just do it yourself.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a Marlboro. I lit it and took a long drag of it, letting it ease my mind as I stared out into the beautiful scenery. Then a thought crossed my mind.

I'll get her myself.

Or maybe I shouldn't.

But then again, I'm always up for a little scandal.

Kehlani's POV

I sat in the bed with Y/N in my arms. I couldn't really sleep. I was too worried that someone would come and try to take me or the kids or Y/N. Maybe even Hayley. I stared into the dark room, freaking out every once in a while when my eyes formed shapes and whatever else in the dark room.

Everything was well. At least for awhile before I started to hear a doorknob jiggling.

The bedroom door.

Something told me to stay in bed but Y/N was on my right, meaning she was the closest one to the door and if whoever was on the other side of that door was trying to hurt her, they'd most definitely beat me.

So I made the decision, the decision that gets a good deal of people killed, to get out of bed and open the door.

However it wasn't an intruder.

It was just Agapi.

"My god Agapi. You scared the crap out of me." I breathe a sigh of relief before picking him up and placing a couple kisses on his cheek.

"What are you doing up at 4:00 in the morning?" I ask him as I walk back to my side of the bed and sit down.

"I had to use the bathroom. Where are we?" He asks after rubbing his eyes and yawning.

"We are in another house..for a little trip."

I didn't want to tell him what was going on and freak him out or scare him. There was already enough on my plate.

Thud.

"Mommy what was that?" Agapi asks as he clings to me.

I just look in the direction of the bedroom door.

"It was probably just some animal since we're in the woods." I reply.

Even though I knew it wasn't.

"I'll go check it out. Get under the covers with momma. I'll be right back ok?" I assure him. He nods.

"Just wake momma up if you're scared. I'll be back." I say before walking out of the room and closing the door.

I check on both Hayley and Imani before walking around the rest of the house.

I check almost the entire house, leaving only the kitchen. Throughout my house check, I'd hear the thuds from various parts of the house. Which only augmented my fear and my concern.

Thud. Thud.

I slowly walk in the kitchen and automatically grab two of the biggest kitchen knives in the drawer.

Gotta have protection.

I followed the thuds around the house. But the only problems is that they kept moving around the house. Like whoever was making the noise was luring me somewhere or playing with me.

(Anyone catch that? No? Mkay.)

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.

I followed it. Thud after furtive thud. It was sickening. And it got more and more terrifying because it got louder and louder the "closer" I got to it.

THUD.

Shaina's POV

I lit another cigarette as I drove the streets of Denver, smiling to myself for what seemed to be no reason.

I was on my way back to the hotel. I had gone to the store to get a couple things and then I went to see how things were going with Kehlani and that little thing she calls her wife.

And it was going pretty good if I do say so myself.

How was that?

I had to end it right there cause I didn't wanna give away too much too soon.
