Chapter 6 - Pain

"Feel better?"
Eric said taking Funboy out and dragging him to the bed
"Well for Sarah...yes...for us....not so much"
I said and began to walk to the window when "Stay"
He ordered
"Why?"
I asked sadly
"Because you're right.We have alot to talk about"
He said as he pushed all of Funboy's needles into his chest filled with morphine....he pushed in everyone until he died of overdose.All his needles he put into his chest were in the shape of a crow
"Real original Eric"
I said smirking.He turned and looked at me like shut up and walked to me.He gently ran his hand up and down my arm
"Jess..."
He stopped looking at the door
"Someone's coming.We have to go"
He said as he took the guitar
"You go out first"
He said and I did as told and then climbed down to the ground.I looked seeing Eric look back in to the room and then jump down
"Come on"
He said and grabbed my and gently and we ran off
"Listen to me Jess...I need you to-"
I cut him off by hugging him tightly
"Eric..."
I said crying now
"I know Jess...Im so sorry..."
He said rubbing my back
"Sorry?For what?"
I asked with my arms around his neck
"For letting them hurt you.I should of listened to my heart instead of my head..my head said marry Shelly...but my heart said...marry you"
Eric said and I gasped
"What?Why would you do that?"
I asked
*eric's thoughts*
~God she can be such a blonde sometimes~
*back to Jess*
"Because blondy...I love you"
Eric said as he gently leaned down and kissed me deeply.
I kissed back putting in all 4 years of loving him.He wrapped his arms around my waist and pushed me against the wall.It got alittle more heavy as I felt his tongue glide into my mouth which didnt bother me at all.After about 15 minutes we pulled apart panting
"Jess go back to my place ok?...I'll be there...soon"
"I have to check on Sarah first"
I said and he nodded
"Okay Just he careful"
He said and kissed me once more before leaving.I sighed
~Does he know about Shelly not loving him?~
I thought confused as I walked to Sarah's place
"Hey sarah.I have to go do something but here's $50.Use it wisely ok?I'll be back soon kiddo. Your mom should be here soon"
I said and she smiled nodding
"Wait listen"
She said and I listened hearing Eric's song the part where he sings
'Can rain all the time'
played over and over.I smiled
"Its true it cant"
I said smiling as I left.I walked to Eric's apartment and lied on the bed again.
(Eric's pov)
I walked in to Albrecht's apartment wanting to know what happened to Shelly and Jess.He was looking out the window when I snuck behind him
"Freeze!"
I yelled and he jumped like 5 feet
"Jesus...dont ever do that,man"
Albrecht said as I walked up to the table and saw a black and white picture of me and my band.
Albrecht had taken a pen and put the makeup he saw on my face onto the picture of me
"Good likeness"
I said as I set it down and looked around
"I saw your body.You died.You got burried"
He said as I looked at him
"You still have your hat on"
I said calmly.He looked up and took it off then looked back at me like Im a smart ass
"I gotta sit down"
He said and backed away onto the couch.I went to the fridge and grabbed a beer then opened it for him
"Say...are you some kind of...ghost?"
He asked
"Boo"
I said sarcastically as I gave him the beer and sat down in the lazy boy
"I dont know what I am.I need you to tell me wat happened to the three of us"
I said looking right at him
"You took a 6 story swan dive out of a window. Who you wanna know about first?"
Albrecht asked and I thought
"Shelly"
I said seeing as apparently Jess got it worse I want to hear how Shelly got it...my heart ached with fear of what might of happened to her
"She was..beaten & raped.Died at the hospital"
Albrecht asked and saw my shocked and pissed expression
"Hey you asked man.Come on,read the file. Shelly Webster held on for 30 hours in intensive care.Her body just finally gave up.I saw it man.I couldnt do jack for her"
Albrecht said. I bit the inside of my cheek wanting and not wanting to know next...
"And Jess?"
I asked wearily.He looked hesitant to tell me but told me anyways
"Jessica Marie Williams...beaten and raped... they threw her into the wall man...broke 3 places in her ribs.
She was in the hospital for 40 hours because they thought her spine was broken and she was cripeled for life but somehow she managed not to break her spine.I dont know how she got it worse then Shelly and made it out of there...it was a miracle...the first thing she said when she woke up was your name.I was shocked that thats all she asked for until she was out of there.She wanted to go to the funeral but she was still in bad condition.She was devistated for the first few weeks they had to force feed her. She was forced to take therapy for 6 months to make sure she wouldn't kill herself."
Albrecht said and I felt tears slide sown my cheek.I quickly wiped them off and walked over to him.He pulled out Jess' and Shelly's files.I looked at them then him and then gently grabbed his head and saw what he saw in the hospital through his eyes
*flashback*
I saw Shelly bloody and beaten as the doctors moved quickly to help her.I then saw Jessie struggling to get free
"Lemme go"
She yelled
"Ma'am u have to relax-"
"I wont relax!My best friend is dead!Let go of me!"
She screamed even though she was in severe pain...I felt her pain...I felt Shelly's pain...it was excruciating
"ERIC!"
She screamed but the gave her a shot and forced her to sleep
*end flashback*
I stumbled back in so much pain it was unberable.It felt like I was dying in the worste most painful way possible
"Hey-"
"Dont touch me!"
I yelled backing away.I didnt want another flashback of their pain.I fell on my knees crying in a chair
"Hey.You ok?"
He asked as I held my head still crouched on the floor
"I saw them...I saw them through your eyes"
I said looking up at him
"You stayed with them the whole time"
I said astonished
"Yeah well,you gotta understand something all right?I was hoping Shelly and Jess would come out of it you know?Give me something I could work with.Yeah...Jess was the only one who came out of it...but everytime I had asked her who did her exact words were-"
I saw a flashback through Albrecht's eyes again of Jess leaning on my grave with sunglasses on
"What does it matter who did it?The ones I love are dead.I should of died as well...even if you put those 4 to justice...it wont bring back Shelly...& it wont bring back Eric"
She said as she cried
*end flashback*
"Hey you listenin?"He asked"Why didnt you do something about it?"
Eric asked
"Jess was the only one who was there who saw it and she was in another galaxy after you died. She was always by herself playing your guitar in your room for the 1st 6 months...the rest she just either slept over Sarah's or slept in the streets. She didnt talk to anybody but Sarah and I never saw her eat...some how she must have over Sarah's if she was still alive... aside from that do you really think all those people living there in that apartment bulding even the ones who signed the petition would talk after what happend to you?"
he asked and I looked away
"I kept asking questions...mostly trying to get Jess to talk...one day I went to far...I didnt mean to I just wanted to help her..she punched me square in the face and said if I ever came near her again and mention your name to her she was gonna do much worse"
he said and i couldnt help but chuckle "Yeah...sorry 'bout that she's a hot head"
I said smirking
"Yeah I know...I got busted for sticking my nose where it wasnt wanted"
he said and then noticed the picture of him and a woman in a picture frame i was holding
"This your wife?"
I asked him
"Yeah we,uh--Well not anymore,we're getting a divorce"
He said but I couldnt help but smile
"Its funny...little things used to mean so much to Jess.Shelly and I used to think it was trivial.
Believe me,nothing's trivial"
I said taking his ciggarett and smoking it then held it up and looked at him
"You shouldnt smoke these.They'll kill ya"
I said smiling at my own joke.
I got up and began to walk away
"You goin to vanish into thin air again?"
He asked but I just turned and looked at him
"I thought I'd use your front door"
I said with a sorrwful look
"Look man,um.Im sorry what happened to your girlfriend but I knew you didnt love her as much as you love Jess"
Albrecht said.My eyebrows raised abit,I looked down with an embarrassed smirk
"Is it that obvious?"
I asked and he nodded
"Yeah...well I gotta go"
I said and he nodded again.I left.I came back to the apartment and saw Jess playing my guitar.
She was siging the exact same song she sang when I took her virginity
"Jess"
I said,she jumped and looked back
"Hey.You're not drunk again are you"
She asked smiling
"Not in the slightest"
I said walking up to her...
