Chapter 8 - Saying Goodbye

(Jess POV)
I woke up finding myself lying on a blanket infront of the fireplace with my arm wrapped up.I opened my eyes with depression relizing it was Eric who had done this
"I see you're awake"
Eric said handing me a slice of pizza.I sighed and sat up taking it
"Yeah...Im so grateful"
I said with sarcasm as I bit into it
"Jess-"
"No Eric,dont start ok?How can you just come back into my life,tell me you love me and say NOT to be around you?I cant do that...atleast not with out cutting my wrists to take away the pain and you know what I feel alittle better"
I said biting pizza again
"Jessie Im sorry ok?This isnt how I wanted things to be...Im pretty sure if I was alive you and I would be the ones married!"
Eric said and I looked up at him
"Yeah right"
I said as I gave Gabriel a piece of cheese.
He licked my hand as I finished my slice
"Im serious!Shelly was gonna tell me that night that she didnt love me & you and I should be together so its obvious you and I would be together"
Eric said making me sigh
"Well it does not change the fact that you and I are different now...way different"
I said looking down
"Different how-oh...yeah"
Eric said looking down as well
"Well Jess...lets make the best out of it"
Eric said
"What do you mean?"
I asked as he pulled me up and lead me to the bed
"Eric if you're not aloud to associate with me then why make love?"
I asked
"Im bending the rules ok?You can do that for love...thats why Im back here arent I?"
Eric asked and I sighed looking down then nodding with a smile.He began to kiss me deeply as he gently pushed me down onto the bed.I took my shirt off reveiling my black lace bra
"Mmm sexy"
Eric said making me laugh.He took off his jacket and shirt as well....

(morning)
I woke up with my head on Eric's chest.I yawned lightly and looked up seeing he was sleeping lightly.I sighed and got dressed then snook out to the living room.I took all pictures of me,Eric and Shelly and lit the fireplace
"Hey"
I heard Eric say
"What are you doin?"
He asked kissing me as he sat down next ot me
"Erasing some memories...the painful ones"
I said as I threw some pictures into the fire
"Good idea"
Eric said taking pictures of Shelly and throwing them in
"Thinking back now about Shelly...she would of been better off as a best friend"
Eric said and I sighed
"That she would...she was like a sister to me"
I said as I threw another one in
"Oh hey I almost forgot"
Eric said and pulled out my necklace.I gasped
"Oh Eric!"
I said hugging him. He smiled as he put it on
"Accept lets change the pictures"
He said
"To what?"
I asked seeing him pull out our pictures from the picture booth at the carnival we went to
"The time we fell in love"
He said and slipped in one of me and one of him.I smiled up at him & kissed him and then looked at a picture of Shelly and I with cake all over our faces
"I remember this!My 18th birthday...we had a cake fight when you went out for the alchohol... god...when we had sex...I got pregnant...I didnt tell you...Shelly told me not to have an abortion so I kept it.I didnt think anybody would know if i just never said anything..but I had a miscarriage. I told Shelly I was the one who got drunk and had sex with some random person... and said i thought I was pregnant..I remember she told me....one for sorrow two for joy.Three for a girl and four for a boy...it made me feel better"
I said"You...were pregnant with my baby?"
Eric asked in shock I smiled nodding
"Yeah...if you werent with Shelly....I would of told you"
I said as I frowned bringing my knees up to my chin
"Wait...you're dead...you cant get me pregnant now can you?"
I asked
"I have no idea"
He said and I shrugged
"Oh well"
I said
"I was going to be a father...and you didnt let me in on that?"
He asked
"Eric,dont be mad I thought you didn't love me. I didnt want to scare you...if I had known you loved me I would of told you"
I said honestly
"I guess I cant blame you for thinking I didnt love u..."
Eric said kissing my forhead.We heard footsteps coming up the stairs outside of Eric's room and he grabbed my hand and we hid.We saw it was Sarah!
"Eric?Hey Jess are you here?"
She called but we didnt move or talk
"Man,Sarah you're going crazy.Gabriel"
She said as she pet him and he meowed
"I thought you were dead"
She said picking him up and petting him
"Youre not dead are you?"
Sarah asked as she noticed the smoking logs from the put out fire and with Gabriel still in her arms walked over.She picked up a random picture and then let Gabriel down walking away
"I knew it was you"
Sarah said looking around
"Even with the makeup...not to mention Jess doesnt get casual with anybody she just meets.. I also remembered your song.You said 'cant rain all the time.'That is from your song right?"
She asked still looking around.She noticed the desk with the mirror that had been broken from being punched.Sarah walked back to the middle of the room and saw the crow.It cawed
"Come on you two.I know you're both here.I miss you..and Shelly..and Jess' always crying..I want to see her smile again"
as she said this I looked down and felt tears fall.I felt so bad for Sarah...she ususally never shows her vulnerable side
"Jess and I...we're all we've got but...we get so lonely sometimes...Im sure you know Jess feelings now"
She looked around but we didnt move.I looked back at Eric worriedly
"The hell with you both.I though you guys cared but maybe all you care about is each other"
She said as I walked out and Eric stood by the window
"I do care Sarah"
Eric said and she saw us both and as Eric and I walked to her we all did alittle group hug

after that Eric looked at Sarah
"Sarah I cant really interact with you...because Im dead now"
Eric said
"But why can Jessie?"
Sarah asked
"Well because her and I-we're connected spiritually now...I need her by my side.Dont worry Sarah.You'll see me again before I leave...the both of you will"
Eric said as I looked down sadly
"Here Sarah.Its a twenty.Go see a movie kay?I love you"
I said hugging her
"Love u too"
She said smiling sadly and left.I sighed and grabbed Eric's hand
"Come on lets go back up to the roof...and spend our last night with eachother in happiness"
I said smiling sadly
"I dont want this to be our last night"
Eric said as we walked to the roof
"I'll be there soon enough...for now...lets just relax...play me a song?"
I said as I sat down.He sighed nodding as he began to play his guitar.I lied down on the concrete and watched as he played.He started to play some sick moves until he destroyed the guitar
"What the hell are you doing?"
I asked
"Im sorry...I just...I got pissed off"
He said
"At what!?"
I asked sitting up now
"At leaving you...I dont want to"
Eric said but i sighed looking down
"I dont want you too either but we have to be strong"
I said and he nodded kissing me deeply
"I have to go take care of him"
Eric said meaning Skank.I sighed nodding as I let him go
(eric's pov)
So i arrived at a rave called
"TRASH"
and the party inside was going strong.I was sitting on the latter listening to a man talk now
"I started the 1st fires in this god damned city. Before I knew it,every charlatan and shitheel was imitating me.Do you know what they got now?Devil's Night greeting cards.Isnt that precious?The idea had become the institution boys.Time to move along"
said the unknown man
"You dont want us to do'Light My Fire' time for the whole city?"
asked a diffrent man
"No,I want you to set a fire so goddamn big,the gods will notice us again,thats what Im saying.I want all you boys to be able to look me straight in the eye one more time and say'are we having fun or wat' Hey you!Whats your name?"
asked the main guy talking
"Skank!You dont feel that?"
he asked
"I feel like a little worm on a big fuckin hook"
said Skank...the one I wanted.Everyone in that room started laughing
"I feel like a little worm on a big fuckin hook' Well boy,your mama must be damn proud of you!"
said the guy and I went inside and hid in the shadows.My crow landed on the table and cawed making EVERYONE looked at it.Skank whimpered
"How the hell did that thing get in here?"
asked the one talking all along.He had long brown hair and I mean long and dressed in strange clothing with black gloves on.My crow felw off
"Gentlemen!"
I said walking out of the shadows.Skank yelled in fear and tried to leave but the black one held him as every
one got up and pointed their guns at me
"Let me go!Let me go!I gotta go!"
Skank whimpered but he was held down. Perfect. It made this easier.I walked to the table and pushed the chair over then hopped on the table and sat casually
"You're him huh?The avenger.The killer of killers. Nice outfit"
said the guy sitting at the end,the one with the long brown hair
"Im not sure about the face though"
he said but I ignored him & pointed at Skank
"I just want him"
I said in a monotone voice.Skank was trying to leave but the black man held him tightly
"Well you cant have him"
said the,Im guessing,leader.I smiled
"Well..."
I said and stood up on the table
"I see you have made your decision.Now lets see you enforce it"
I said holding my arms open wide
"Aw this is already boring the shit out of me. Kill him!"
the leader said and everyone began to shoot at me until I fell over off the table
"Ohh that had to hurt. By the way, my names Top Dollar. It was a pleasure"
Top Dollar said as everyone laughed
"well thats,that"
Top Dollar said but it was far from over
"That guy was crazy"
Said some random guy as he walked over to me but I was hiding under the table waiting for an idiot like him
"He's gone"
Said the guy but I shot him in his head.
Eveyone yelled scared.I began to pull countless people under the table and kill them.They tried to shoot under the table but they missed.I came out from under the table and began to shoot people dead.I saw Skank & ran twords him.He used some random girl to block himself from getting shot but then he shoved the girl into me and she gave me a flirty look but I pushed her away.Pathetic.I ran after Skank but people were getting in my way so I killed them and punched them out.I made one guy shoot others then I slit another guy's throat.The rest of the people shot out the lights which gave only me the advantage.Money was flying everywhere.I finished everyone off with the gun I was holding.Finally after everyone was dead. Top Dollar and two others had run off before it was even over. I looked back seeing Skank hiding under the table.I began to walk ontop of the table hearing his whimpers.I took a sword stabbed into the table and shoved it all the way into the table making Skank scream.He went to get out but as he did I jumped off the table and stood in front of him.I grabbed Skank by his colar and held him tightly with such a glare
"Guess its not a good day to be a bad guy huh Skank?"
I asked
"Im not Skank.Skank's over there.Shank's dead"
he said. I smirked at him
"Thats right"
I said smirking seeing the flashback of him touching Shelly.I threw him through the window and watched him fall to his death ontop of a cop car.I didnt have time to stay and watch because a BIG grop of cops came in
"Don't move!"
yelled a cop.I looked back at them
"Thats all she wrote!Move and we shoot!"
I said to the cop as I only put my hands up but I did move.I ran to the window and crashed through it onto the fire escape.Cops from outside shot but I ran as fast as possible ontop of the roof and began to jump from roof to roof until I fell off the roof and landed onto a lower roof.Then I kept jumping from roof to roof again.I jumped off the roof finally and landed onto a pile of trashcans.I heard a screeching of tires
"Come on!Move it!"
I look back seeing officer Albrecht.I got into his car quickly and he sped off
"My advise:next time duck.So many cops,you'd think theyre giving away doughnuts"
he said but almost ran into a cop car
"Shit!"
he said,I took this oppertunity to run away.I ran off but stopped to catch my breath on the side walk.I leaned on a post panting for a bit but my eyes widened seeing bright lights on my face.I heard laughter and then I smiled seeing children...trick-or-treaters.They ran in a circle around me and I began to laugh.I was so happy I finally killed all 4 of those bastards who touched the girls..but my heart sank relizing I'd have to say goodbye to Jess.I made it back to the apartment building and saw Jess sitting infront of Shelly's grave playing her guitar gently as she sung a happy tune for Sarah while she slept.
(Jess pov)
So yeah i was sitting infront of Shelly's grave...I figured this is where Eric and I would have to part.Sarah had come along earlier so I got my guitar and played a song for her till she fell asleep
(lets just say Sarah is 15 I mean she looks it)
"Cuz when you're 15 and somebody tells you they love you you're gonna believe them.And when you're 15 and feelin like theres nothing to figure out but count to 10 take it in this is love before you know who youre gonna be....15"
I sang but stopped seeing Eric walking up
"Eric"
I said as tears started to fall.I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly
"Oh Eric...I dont want to part"
I said crying quietly
"I know..neither do i Jess but we have to. We'll see eachother again alright?"
he said but I just shook my head
"I dont want to wait that long"
I said as I saw tears fall down his cheeks as well
"Jess we have to be strong....if we're not we'll leave eachother broken hearted"
Eric said but we both stop hearing a groan.We looked seeing Sarah get up
"You're gonna say I shouldn't be in the cemetery in the middle of the night right?"
Sarah asked Eric
"Safest place in the world to be"
Eric said smiling as he crouched down infront of her
"That's because everybodie's dead.I knew you'd come here...Jess was already out here paying Shelly a visit"
Sarah said and I nodded
"It's really late Sarah"
Eric said trying to usher her to go home
"You didnt say good-bye"
Sarah said meaning when he died
"Youre just gonna have to forgive me for that"
Eric said as I cried silently
"You're not coming back? What about Jess?"
Sarah said looking at me
"She understands that I have to go...here Sarah. I gave this to Shelly once"
Eric said tying the necklace with Shelly's ring attached around Sarah's neck....
