Rowan Everdeen. Yes Everdeen, My older sister is Katniss Everdeen darling of the capitol. She volunteered for Primrose, our little sister when she was reaped. Her and Peeta Mellark won the 73rd Hunger Games together. She acts as if I don't know, the Capitol is not happy with her. She went against the capitol when she pulled her stunt with the nightlock berries. But more about myself.
I have never really had much friends, besides Gale, Katniss, Prim, and Paisley. I never really talked to much people in my grade because most of them couldn't take my sarcasm. I met Gale when Katniss and him first taught me how to hunt. Gale was patient enough and all I did was hang around in the woods all day hunting, laughing, and fooling around with them. The woods were the only time I really felt...alive. Your probably wondering why I used to hunt everyday. I live in District 12, where they don't feel the need to keep us fed. We lived in the seam so the only way we were getting food was by getting it ourselves, since my mother doesn't do anything anymore well... not since our father died.
Pasiley Wright is a little girl who also lives in the seam. When I first met her she was 9 years old. I was 11 and just learned how to hunt and trade at the hob. She was sitting outside the Hob and you could tell she was crying because her eyes were red. I asked what was wrong and she said her and her mother were starving. Me feeling sympathy for the girl gave her a chipmunk I had hunted and a few berries I picked. Lets just say she was the happiest child in the whole District. Ever since then she was always at the hob and I took it as my responsibility to feed her family and to this day I still do.
When my sister won the games and Gale started working in the mines, I didn't have anyone to hunt with. There was no need to hunt either because of all the money we had. So I went alone and Katniss on occasions. Often her PTSD would act up and I would have to take her home. The games took my sister from me. The capitol took Gale from me. They let children like Paisley starve and almost die. They created the Hunger Games. I would do anything to watch it go up in flames.
