8 Reasons Why Alpacas Are Similar To Human Beings

1. Tried to Domesticate Ya - Alpacas have been domesticated for thousands of years as humans have!

2. “Art”pacas - Some humans have been known to use the image of an alpaca in some of their artwork. I thought I could compare this to how portraits are painted of people.

3. Family Time - Alpacas are said to be very social animals that live in family groups. Like some humans, these groups consist of an alpha male, a female and their babies.

4. Violence Doesn’t Solve Anything - When alpacas are feeling threatened they can spit and kick in self-defence. I thought I could compare human nature to this as some may well spit and kick at an attacker or somebody that they feel threatened by!

5. Gross - All alpacas are able to spit and some choose not to whereas some do choose to. Humans are very similar in this respect as some decide to spit, as we are all able to, and others do not.

6. Physical Contact - Alpacas are very picky about where they like being touched, but one of their big issues is that they don’t like being grabbed! Do not grab an alpaca. Also, sometimes, humans don’t like being grabbed. I can relate to the alpacas as it seems like quite an aggressive thing to do!

7. Scream If You Want to Go Faster - An alpaca makes a variety of noises which I’m sure human beings either do as well, or can relate to. The first sound that I feel is similar to that of humans is a high-pitched, shrieking whine which alpacas make when they are in danger. The second is a noise that sounds like “wark” when they are excited. But to make other alpacas around them feel comforted and safe they will hum, which I think I do on a regular basis for exactly that reason!

8. Making Babies - Usually an alpaca will successfully breed after mating with a male but it can sometimes be difficult for them to concieve. I know that this can be related to some human experiences. Also, their birth will often result in a single offspring and twins are quite rare, which could be said for humans.
