Tell me... Trust me...

He didn't even have enough time to take a last breath, he was already being pulled down by his feet. He reached up to the surface, trying to cry for help. He saw nothing but white bubbles in blue nothingness.
Whatever it was that was pulling Ben into the deepness of the water, it was huge!

He struggled, but it was of no use. He felt how his lungs were burning and crying for air.

It hurt.
Then, everything went black.

Nymphadora held the boy in her hand. "That was easy," she commented.

Her eyes traced the boy, but she already knew it was the right one. She could feel it.
"Benjamin...," she whispered with an evil smirk, "You're gonna be very useful to me!"
And she took him down with her.

***

She raised her hands up to his head once again, but she still couldn't reach his thoughts. It had been going like that for half an hour now.

"NO! WHY? WHY DOESN'T IT WORK?! HE'S ALIVE! WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?", she cursed.

She swam up and down, kneading her hands angrily.
"Argh, well then. I'll need to make you tell me by yourse-" She stopped in the middle of her sentence as an idea popped into her mind.
"Oh yes, Nymphadora, you're brilliant," she told herself, a wicked grin on her face.

She turned around to the sleeping  boy and blew on him like she was blowing out a candle.
But nothing happened. "What?! Argh, this disrespectful sea, I'll show you how strong I am, you'll see!"
And she blew a second time. It was difficult and exhausting. She felt the magic getting sucked out of her.

But she did it.

Ben gasped, opening his eyes. He looked around in panic and confusion.
"Hello, boy. Don't worry, you'll be safe and sound," Nymphadora said with a soft smile, "We'll be BEST FRIENDS, my dear Ben, aren't I right?"

He'd frozen at the sight of her gigantic, blue body and those yellow eyes that were glancing at him with that mischivious shimmer that her sweet smile was trying to hide.

"Benjamin, my good boy, tell me. How are you feeling?", she said, trying to win his trust.
"I-I'm ok... I guess," he answered, reaching up to his throat. He couldn't understand the situation. Not at all. He was underwater, but he was breathing. How was that possible?

"It's magic, dear. I'm keeping you alive with it," Nymphadora smiled.
"Why am I here?", he asked scaredly.
"Oh," she said casually, "Nothing special. I just need you to tell me some things..."
"What kind of things?", his voice was surprisingly strong.
"I heard you know a pirate called Jack Sparrow, is that true?"

"It's Captain Jack Sparrow."

"Ah, so you do know him?"

"Knew. He's gone."
"Oh, are you sure about that? Because I can assure you he's not dead."
Ben had a determination in his voice that nearly offended her as he said, "How do you know?"

"I can feel him, Benjamin. He's out there. And he's cursed, you know. He's bad!"
"He's the best pirate to have ever sailed on the sea," Ben told her, nearly provocatively.

"Boy, you know who I am, don't you?", she said and her smile was gone.
"You're Nymphadora, the goddess of the sea," he answered.
"Right. And I am keeping you alive, my boy. Don't forget that! And now tell me... What did Sparrow tell you about Kira?"

Ben didn't see another way than to tell her. She was a goddess after all and without her he'd die.

But that was only the first reason he told her.
The second one, the main reason, was her trust... He wanted her trust.

"The captain always claimed he wasn't in love and Kira was nothing but a good friend to him, but... when the wave took her, he got drunk, he... He, well, I talked to him.
He told me, if I ever find a girl that is too perfect, I should keep her close and protect her. As I asked him about Kira he... He said Kira was too wild and strong and he had to let her go."

Nymphadora grinned, then she asked, "Did you meet Kira too?"
"Yes...", he mumbled and immediately saw her eyes in front of him... Those ocean eyes of Kira's...
"What did she tell you?"
"I don't know if she'd like me to tell tha-"
"Benjamin. Trust me," Nymphadora looked at him with a sweet smile.

"She... She told me that she'd met Jack as he was a maroon, left behind on an island. Rum smugglers used the island as depot and Kira was with those smugglers, so she found Jack there. They sailed together for some time it seems, but then Kira went to an old friend of Jack's as she put it. She seemed to know that person, but she spoke very, well, mysteriously."

"Oh, Ben, you're a good boy. But... there's something you didn't tell me," she narrowed her eyes.

He swallowed, then he told her, "I... I asked Kira where the compass points for her. Jack's compass - it shows you the way to your deepest desire." He paused.
"And? What was it?", Nymphadora hissed.

"I don't know. She didn't tell me. But... I mean, what would you think?"
Nymphadora froze. It was like something had just come back to her...

"What's your name, stranger?", she asks, eyeing the dark skinned God up and down.
"I'm Repun, God of the sea animals. A pleasure to finally meet you, Nymphadora," he kisses her hand.

"It's our child, Repun."
"Her name will be Calypso."

"No! Repun! I need you!", she breaks down, sobbing into his body as he fades away. "I love you," he mumbles.

"Gods and Goddesses will fade when the people stop believing or when the Gods lose their purpose. When they get careless."

"What did you say?", she said, suddenly startled.

"I, uh, asked you what you'd think the compass shows Kira," Ben responded slowly.
"Right... Yes," Nymphadora nodded absentmindly.

"Madame?", Ben addressed her carefully.
"Yes?"
"Who's Repun?"

Her eyes seemed to catch fire as she growled, "How do you know that name?"
"Y-you just mumbled it, ma'am, I'm sorry," he said frightenedly.
The look on her face changed as she eyed the little boy.
His little face and the short hair...

"He was the one. The only one," she muttered and there were tears in her eyes, no doubt.

But in the next second the soft tone in her voice was gone and there was nothing but pain in her eyes.
Angrily she grabbed Ben, staring at him with hatred in her expression.

"Please, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do or say anything wrong!", Ben pressed out.

She'd nearly killed him. Really, she had.
But there was this glow in his orbs and that determination in her face that reminded her of Kira.
She couldn't kill him.

But in the next moment he'd fallen into a deep sleep. It was more of a trance than a sleep, actually.
And she tied his feet together with a rope she attached to the sea's ground to prevent him from floating away.

And she started preparing for a fight! Because in the boy's face she'd seen Kira's will and strength and Nymphadora knew Kira would come and fight her.
"Bad girl, fighting her own mother," she thought, but deep down something told her that something about the sentence was wrong.

Her own mother. Really?

"If I tell her, I'll lose her forever," she thought to herself.

The question is, won't you lose her too if you don't tell her?
