I run out the building and jump on my bike and head toward Michael.
I peddle as fast as I can. I know it'll be 11:00am by the time I get there. His house is close to mine, but far from the school. I turn down the street that his house is on. I see construction workers. Oh no...I'm too late... I stop in front of his house and jump off my bike. A loud machine starts up. "Hey!! What are you doing?" A worker looks at me up and down and says, "We're rebuilding this house. Why? You lost little lady?" "Where's the owner!" "Over there." I look near the house. Michael is talking with someone. I run to him. "Michael. What's going on?" He turns around. He's surprised. "Kelsey! Hey. Aren't you suppose to be at school?" "Forget that. What's going on?" "Oh. I'm having these men rebuild my house." "How?" He grabs my hand and we walk down the street. "This is better. It was too loud over there." "Michael, how are you paying for this?" "You won't believe it! I went downtown to the bank. Just to see if I had anything. And my mom and dad left me a million dollars!" This news struck me. "Wait...you went downtown?" "Babe, did you hear me? I have a million dollars!" He called me babe.....Wait a sec...A million dollars!!! I hug Michael. "I'm so happy for you!!" He kisses me. "I decided to build my life again. I would love if you would help me." "You want me to help you build your life again?" "Yes. Help me." I look into Michael's eyes. "Of course." He smiles.
"I think I should tell you something." "What is it, Michael?" "Well, today is my birthday." "Really?" "Yeah. I'm going to be...." He suddenly stops. He looks away. "What is it?" "Oh. Nothing." "It doesn't seem like nothing." "Really. I'm fine. I got to go back to the house. Maybe you should go to school." He walks away. Did I do something? Of course I'm not going back to school. I slowly start following him. Let's see. I don't remember saying anything wrong. I wonder how old he's turning? Wait a minute... Maybe he's afraid of the age difference. He needs to know I don't care about that. Age is just a number. I have to ensure him, that I'm not going to freak out. He needs to know... "Michael!" He turns around and walks toward me. "I thought you left?" "Michael, follow me." I grab is hand and lead him to a park I saw while riding to school. We sit on a bench. "Michael, you need to know that I don't care how old you are. Age is just a number. I...I love you." Michael looks at me with a glow in his eyes.
Michael's point of view
She loves me...Oh boy... "I love you too, but I'm too old." "Michael, it can't be that bad." "Well...no I can't." "Michael listen to me! I'm in love with you! If you think a number is going to make me run, then you're crazy! Now, please...tell me." I look down. I hope she's telling the truth... "Ok...I'm turning 33 years old." She looks at me. Uh oh... She gets up, looks at me and starts yelling, "Michael! 33! That's what you were worried about!" She goes on and on about how that's nothing. Wow...I love her so much right now. She starts laughing. I can't help but laugh too. She sits back down. "Michael, you worry to much." She puts her head on my shoulder. "Kelsey. Can you promise me something." "Ok. What?" "Promise me you will always love me." "Michael, I promise you, that I will always love you." She gently grabs my face and kiss me. I pull her closer. Nothing can ruin this moment. "Kelsey!! What the hell are you doing?!"
