Kelsey's point of view-
I wonder why Mrs. Thorton wants to talk to me? I lead Mrs. Thorton to my room. "Is this your room?" "Yes." "This was my room about 13 years ago." "Really?" I know all about you. "Yes." "So, what do you want to talk about." Mrs. Thorton let her hair down. Wow. She had the most beautiful, wavy, brown hair I've ever seen. No wonder Michael was in love with her. "I'm going to give it to you straight." Uh oh.
"I'm still in love with Michael. I was happy when you called, because you live in this area. I was planning on coming here and making up with him. So, here's the deal. You give me Michael, and you'll get a free of charge scholarship to Duke. Everything will be paid for. Or you don't give me Michael, and you can kiss your dreams goodbye." I was in complete shock. Did she just...
"Think about it. You have until Thursday evening to make a decision." She opened my bedroom door and went in the kitchen. I slowly followed her. I made it to the kitchen just in time to see her ruffle Michael's hair and leave. Michael was blushing. Oh, I'm pissed off now. "You little pig!"
Michael looked at me confused. "What are you talking about?" "Shut the hell up! You dirty pig!" I stormed out of there and went to my room. I slammed the door.
Michael's point of view-
What the hell did I do?
I looked at Anne. "What did I do?" Anne sat down next to me. "Michael, I heard something I wasn't suppose to hear." "What? What was it?" Anne took a deep breath, looked toward Kelsey's room, then back at me. "I wanted to know what they were talking about." "And? What did you hear?" Anne shook her head. "Please tell me."
"I can't believe she is doing this." "Anne, you gotta tell me. Right now." "Ok, ok. I heard Mrs. Thorton tell Kelsey that she's still in love with you. And that Kelsey has to choose between you or Duke University."
"You're kidding, right?" "I wish I was." I stood up. "What the hell is wrong with her! She can't do this to Kelsey!" I couldn't believe what I heard. I wanted to explode. I ran down toward Kelsey's room. I started banging on her door. "Kelsey! Open the door baby!" No response. "Kelsey! Baby!" I turned the knob. It was unlock.
I felt embarrassed. I cleared my throat. I opened the door. "Kelsey?" I saw no one inside. I checked her bathroom. No one. I walked back in her bedroom. "Anne, she isn't here." "Oh no. My poor baby. Where could she be?" I noticed her window open.
"I might have an idea. Stay here." Anne nodded. Before I left her house, I grabbed the flowers off the kitchen table. Then I walked toward my house. The house renovations were completed a week ago. My house looked totally different from my original home. I did not want to be reminded of all the terrible things that happened to me.
My house is yellow with black shutters. The big oak tree is still in my front yard. I didn't want the workers to cut it down, because I love climbing that tree. Its sorta like my giving tree. I love that story.
I passed by my house and went to the park. I thought she might be there, because that's where I asked her to love me always and she said said she will. Thats also the place she first said I love you. I scan the park for her. She's sitting on the same bench that we did that day. Her head is down. My poor baby. I walk to her. "Kelsey, baby, are you ok?" She turns and looks at me. Her eyes are red from crying. "Does it look like I'm ok?" I sit next to her. "I'm sorry she's doing this to you. You want me to talk to her?" "Yeah, like I want the person she's in love with alone with her."
"I don't know what you want me to do." "I would love it if you would just shutup! Please! I'm trying to think here!" Her outburst hurt me a little, but I understand why she did it. She's stressed out.
"I don't know what to do, Michael. I love you, but this is my future we're talking about here. Duke has everything I'm looking for. I just... don't know."
No the hell she did not just say that! "Are you f****** serious! You don't know what to do? I'm right f****** here! I can't believe you don't know what to do!"
"Tell me, Michael! What the hell you think I should choose!"
I run my hands through my hair. "You choose me! You choose me, damn it!"
"Oh, so I choose the freak of the town over my future!"
As soon as she said that, my whole world fell around me. The look on her face showed me that she instantly regretted what she said.
"Michael, I didn't mean-"
"No! No! You of all PEOPLE should of known better than that! Choose your damn college over me! I don't give a damn anymore! I might f*** Jennifer just because!!! Have fun at your dumbass college!" I threw the flowers at her feet.
Kelsey's point of view
I watched in pain as Michael threw the flowers and ran away. How could I've been so stupid.... I really screwed up this time... I don't want to lose him.. I love him so much... Michael...forgive me...
