"Oh shit! Are you all right there?" a deep male voice asks me as a lay there with no intention of getting up anytime soon.
God?
"Uh, no. That's the other guy. I'm Luke Salinger," the man said as I slowly opened my eyes, curious to see who it was.
I know you!! James Franco look-alike!
"You're the mayor aren't?" I asked as realization dawned upon me yet still confused as to what was happening.
A tall, built man probably in his late 30's, in a neat black and white suit stood in front of me. His dark brown, almost black hair was immaculately styled to perfection and his light brown almost hazel eyes, for some reason, looked soo familiar.
Luke chuckled in amusement as he offered up a hand to me. It took me a while to realize that I was still sprawled out on the floor. Not really the most appropriate situation you'd like to find yourself in when meeting the mayor for the first time.
"You got that right," he replied with a kind smile.
"Not to be rude or anything, but what are you doing in a public high school?" I asked curiously as he helped me up to my feet, wincing a bit from the pain, "I mean it doesn't really seem like your scene."
Trying to suppress a laugh he answered shaking his head. "You'd think that but trust me, when mayor, everything's got to be your scene. And to answer your question, my niece just joined at this school, hence why I was signing up to sponsor the school."
"Ahh yes, the infamous Blair Andrews. A stunning one she is," I replied back sarcastically causing Luke to laugh more.
"Believe me the girl is a handful," he said as a matter of fact, "The only reason I'm here is because my sister threatened the crap out of me to be supportive and what not to her daughter since she has and I quote 'no male authority figure' in her life." He made no attempt to hide his dislike for his young niece.
Why does this guy sound cool? I liked this guy more when he was hating on people. I mean, he's the mayor!!
Chuckling I replied, "Sucks to be you dude," offering him an apologetic smile.
"Eh you get used to it," he said shrugging his shoulders.
As I was about to reply to him, I heard a voice call out my name causing me to turn around to see who it was.
It just so happened to be my dearest brother who I was out to kill later on. Izzy, with a worried expression on his face, made his way towards me quickly.
"Hey I was worried about you when you left so suddenly," he said genuinely concerned, "you okay?"
"I'd be better if you didn't play that stupid prank on me this morning," I replied back, still salty about it.
A guilty look formed on his face with a apologetic smile, "Look I'm really sorry about that bunny. I was out of line and acted like a jerk. Forgive me?"
"Ha and spare you the chance of being avenged by me?" I said snorting, "Not a chance Israel."
A joking smile lit up his face as he opened his mouth to say something, but he stopped when something behind me caught his eye. I turned around to see Luke staring at us in confusion.
Oh, totally forgot about you there buddy.
"What are you doing here talking to him?" he said through his teeth sounding... angry? His expression, surprisingly was cold and stony all of a sudden.
