Heartbreak Girl (Calum Hood)

This is based on the song 'Heartbreak Girl' and the story behind it :)- L

Calum's POV:

I can hear pebbles being thrown at my window. It's Y/N, she's coming over because he cheated on her, again. It's become a weekly thing now, she goes out with him then comes home crying, calls me up, tells me about how he broke her heart before asking if she can come over. Of course, I say yes every time, hoping one day she might realise how we are meant to be together.

I slide open the window before she climbs up the awning and onto the roof outside my room, she slips in through the window before crashing into my arms.

"He got over me so easily, I can't believe it." She cries into my chest and I sigh, stroking her hair. She's so beautiful, bathed in the moolight and I wonder how those guys ever got so lucky but she picks the wrong guy every time. Why can't she see? What will it take her to see that I'm right here for her?

I kiss her head as her crying subsides into hiccups. I pull her down onto my bed, she kicks off her shoes and snuggles down. I lazily wrap my arm around her waist as she drifts off. I wrap the duvet around us both, closing the distance beween our bodies, her back to my bare chest. If only she could see that I'd treat her right.

*The Next Morning*

I wake up to the sunlight streaming through my undrawn curtains. Y/N is lying next to me, her hair is splayed out over the pillow and her arm is draped over my bare chest. I trace my fingers over the contour lines of her face, careful not to wake up the sleeping beauty who lies so peacefully next to me.

She stirs anyway and smiles as she opens her eyes.

"Morning," she mumbles and I wonder if there'll be a time where I wake up like this everyday, with her in my arms.

"I have band practice in a hour, do you wanna come?" She nods before rubbing her eyes with the back of her hands, she's so adorable. We get up and dressed before heading over to Y/N's house so she can shower then we walk to Luke's house for band practice.

All the guys know I love Y/N, they want me to tell her but I don't have the guts and besides I don't want to ruin our friendship, she means the world for me and I'd prefer to be her friend forever than never have her at all.

Ash, Luke and Michael are all warming up and they greet Y/N like their sister, giving her hugs and making jokes. I know they all like her a lot and they'd be happy if we were together.

"Okay, now Cal's here, we should start practising, let's start with Heartbreak Girl," Michael winks, he knows I wrote that song specifically for Y/N. She perches on a chair in the corner of the room, her hair falls around her face and she gets annoyed with it, she pulls it back into a ponytail. Little things like that make me love her even more, I know I want to spend the rest of my life learning about the things that piss her off and the things that make her smile.

I start playing the bass and Luke sings. It's not the first practice Y/N's been to, but its the first time I've performed this song for her. I can tell she's listening to every word. My heart flutters as she watches me sing the words.

I finish the end of the song and Y/N's staring at me wide eyed. The boys all notice and pretend not to be paying atention as I make my way over to her.

"Calum, um, is that song about me?" She fiddles with the hem of her t-shirt, not making eye contact and I take her hand before dragging her outside.

I lean in and gently press my lips to hers, I know could have potentially ruined our whole friendship with my bold move. She opens her mouth in shock before kissing back. I sigh, relieved that she didn't pull away. Her hands find their way to the back of my neck as she deepens the kiss. Her tongue dancing with mine. She pulls away, breathless before biting her lip.

"I didn't know you felt that way about me Cal, I'm so fucking blind. Wasting my time on stupid guys when you were here all along." I press our foreheads together and I smile.

"It doesn't matter because you're here now."
