The thin boy sat alone at the lunch table, his head held low so that his feathery black hair hid his eyes from view as he scooped rice into his mouth, trying not to make eye contact with the other groups of kids who sat chatting and laughing at their own tables. Shota had never really been a social person, but sometimes even he got tired of having to eat alone, isolated from the other kids who had already developed their quirks, showing them off at recess or even now as a few demonstrated their newfound abilities.
That was another reason he had no friends.
Shota had a quirk, he just didn't like to use it. The last time he did use it in public it had been at his old school, when he erased the power of a boy who had been bullying his little sister. The next thing he knew, no one would talk to him, avoiding him in the halls and whispering behind his back, the same words repeated over and over until he finally switched classes.
Villain's Quirk...
He can erase your powers! It's really freaky!
I would stay away from that kid...
He looks all evil when he does it too...
Shhh, here he comes!
Don't make eye contact...
Only a villain would have such a freaky power....
Shota sighed, pushing his meal around the tray and trying to block out all the noise, not noticing the sound of whispers growing loud around him as footsteps came closer to his table, stopping right at his side.
"Is this seat taken....?"
The raven haired boy's head shot up in surprise at the familiar voice, his confused black eyes meeting emerald green as he took in the sight of someone he knew, but hadnt seen since the day they met on the fire escape under the window, when Shota had found him crying in the snow, alone like he was. The lanky blond boy gave him a smile, holding his tray tight as he raised his other hand in a wave, a hopeful look on his face.
"Heyya Shota."
Hizashi stared into the confused black eyes with a smile, holding tightly to his tray as he pointed nervously at the open seat across from the raven haired boy, a small blush on his face. He wasn't sure if this was appropriate, as he hadn't seen Shota since they met on the fire escape, and wasn't sure if he should be here. But, when he saw Shota eating alone, he figured it would be nice to have some company, his head and his heart wanting to find out more about the mysterious boy he had met in the snow and listened to him cry under the window, awkwardly offering comfort. Shota stared at him, before flushing slightly and shaking his head, staring down at his food as the tall blond sat down across from him, hearing whispers.
"....y-you shouldn't sit by me, Yamada-San..." Shota mumbled softly, pushing his meal around his plate as Hizashi dug into his own, looking up with a confused look in his bright green eyes.
"I asked you to call me Hizashi. Also, why not? Do you want me to go?"
"W-well no, i-i don't mind but.....th-the other kids will st-start talking about you if you hang out with me...."
Hizashi cocked his head to the side, staring at the blushing black haired boy across from him with a curious expression, shrugging his shoulders with a grin.
"So? Why should I care?"
"Don't you? I-I mean, y-you could end up eating alone everyday like me...."
