Alex's POV

Four months have pasted since I met Mason and things were actually pretty great. I had to keep reminding myself I had a job to do which wasn't hard when I had Jessica calling me every single day for the past 2 months. She was wondering how much longer it was gonna take I told her I was waiting for him to tell me I love you. Which he hasn't done yet. There was a small part of me that didn't want him to say it ever so that I could live in this happy place but I knew that was unrealistic.

It's been three months since Viola left and I was very surprised at how close her and I became. I learned so much about her that not even her brother knew. I learned how she loved partying and how she would sneak out every weekend and end up trashed on someone's couch. It's shocking no one found out not even her dad. She was just living her life. We still keep in touch and she always talks about how Emerson is driving her insane.

I could tell the waiting for sex was getting to mason he was becoming distant and I knew I had to do something to keep him entertained without sleeping with him. So I began to cook and bake for him everyday. I would make sure I left work 2 hours before usual that way he could come home and eat.

Today was no different I left work at 3 pm and went straight to the kitchen at his house and started making lasagna. Putting everything in the oven I then started making his favorite red velvet cake. As the cake was in the oven I heard my phone ring.

Viola

"Hey, Vi," I said answering cheerfully. " what's up?"

"Nothing girl," she said back just as cheerfully. "I was just calling to check in on you. Please tell me my brother came to his senses and wants to wife you up."

"Ha that won't happen," I said bursting into a fit of laughter.

"Don't be so sure," she said and I could feel the smirk she was sporting on her face. "My brother has never been this way with another girl before."

"Maybe that's so," I said biting my lip. "But it doesn't mean we'll ever get married."

It's hard talking to your fake boyfriend's sister about relationships when the girl never even been in one before. Sure we went out and she danced and kissed guys in the heat of the moment but never went past that.

"You guys are perfect together," she gushed.

"Oh says the girl who never had a boyfriend before," I countered.

"Well that's kinda why I called," she exclaimed. "I kinda met someone when I first got out here. He's so fine and sweet. We've kinda been dating."

To be honest, I thought her and Emerson would have ended up getting together with all the time they spent together but I guess I was wrong. The way they bickered was like an old married couple. It was adorable really.

"Omg tell me his name," I exclaimed.

"Silas," she gushed. "He's great. I really want you to meet him. You should come out and visit me soon."

I never had a friend quite like Viola before. She was kind, sweet, caring and loving. She always made sure to invite me to places and I knew when I broke up with Mason our friendship will end. I hated to think about it because I'm really going to miss her. Never have I felt so cared about in my life until I met Mason and Viola. They both were patient and kind.

"Yeah maybe I can," I lied knowing damn well I couldn't it's only a matter of time before mason says I love you.

"Let me know when you can I'll buy your ticket Al."

"I will, Vi," I said.

"I miss you girl, you wouldn't believe how lonely it is out here. I will say it is beautiful though."

"I miss you too. At least you have Emerson to keep you company," I said chuckling trying to lighten the mood.

"Not funny bitch," she said chuckling her damn self. "On a serious note, we actually became friends. Weird I know."

"Friends? You mean not threatening to kill each other every 2 seconds?"

"Oh we still do but he's great with relationship advice and fun to hang with when Silas is busy."

"What does Silas do?" I asked.

"He runs a music company in California he's just out here on vacation right now," she gushed.

"That's awesome Vi," I said forging excitement.

I felt protective of Viola like she was my own little sister and I had this feeling something wasn't right with this guy but I decided to push that thought aside. Emerson is there to protect her besides they're friends now. I'm sure he'll make sure no harm comes to her.

"Thank you Al, I can't wait for you to meet him."

"Yeah, neither can I."

We continued to talk for another hour or so about everything from the weather to how the business was going. She told me all about the house her father bought out there for her to live in until everything was settled. She even sent pictures it was beautiful. Then I looked at the time realizing it was 7:30 pm. Mason should have been home by now. I said goodbye to Viola promising to call her as soon as I get a chance.

Where the hell is mason? Panic crept into my chest as thoughts of all the things that could have happened to him popped into my head. He's okay Alex; you're just overreacting. Chill out. But as another hour past the worry only increased. I found myself calling him even though I hated to be the nagging girlfriend but I was so consumed with worry I couldn't stop myself. The phone rang 7 times before going to voicemail; where the hell was he?

As time went on I decided to put the food away and clean up the kitchen to keep me busy. Then after everything was spotless I headed upstairs to his shower taking my time trying to calm my nerves. Once I was dressed I made my way back downstairs and turned on the tv. I kept glancing down at my phone checking the time.

I began to doze off watching Shrek on Netflix. What seemed like 5 minutes later I heard commotion at the door. As I sat up adjusting my eyes to the light that was just turned on I seen a messy Mason come through the door. His curly hair was a mess going all over the place, his tie was loosened on him and his button up shirt was only half way buttoned. His belt undone. He had pink marks on his face and neck. I knew what it was but I didn't want to admit it to myself.

"What happened to you?" I found myself asking.

"Alex, baby, I have something to tell you," he pleaded; I could see the pain in his eyes as he walked closer to me. "I fucked up and cheated on you."
