Addalynn was in her bathroom while her mom curled her blonde hair while and helped her write out her promises to Bucky. Her mom Carrie and Bucky's mom Winnie thought it was the cutest thing that Bucky asked her to marry him with a ring pop on the 4th of July. It was just two weeks after that Bucky was at his house fixing his hair while his mom waited for him. They may be 12 years old but that didn't mean that the two of them knew what they felt for each other.
They walked to the shelter Addalynn ate her ring so she made bracelets for them. Carrie and Winnie convinced the chaplain to go along with their little pretend wedding so they met him there at the park shelter along with the few friends that they had. The chaplain did his usual stuff he does and then said "Do you have something that you two would to say to each other."
"Yes we do." Bucky said with a big smile.
"Okay who wants to go first." The chaplain said
"I want her to go first daddy always said ladies go first." Bucky said
Addalyn unfolded the paper her mom gave her and she said "Dear James I promise that I will be a good wife to you. I promise to always be good to you and faithful to you I promise that no matter where our daddy's jobs may take us that I will always be your girl your forever girl. I will always pray for you and I will always love you James."
"Okay James it's your turn." the chaplain said
"Dear Addalynn I promise that I will always be truthful and faithful to you and no matter how near or far we may be from each other I will always be your husband. I promise to always hold your hand when you are scared and I promise to kiss you anytime I want I will buy you flowers when you have a bad day and always tell you that you are beautiful. I love you Addie Jo always."
'Now do you two have something to symbolize this union." the chaplain said
"Yes." Addalynn said as she took the bracelets from her mom.
"Okay now slide them on each other." The chaplain said
Addalynn gave the one that says "AJTB" to Bucky and slid it on his wrist and then he gave her the one that says "JBB." and slid it on her wrist.
"Now do you two promise to uphold these promises to each other till death do you part." the chaplain said
"We do." they both said in unison.
"Okay I now pronounce you husband and wife you may now kiss your bride." the chaplain said
"Everybody close your eyes." Bucky said
He leaned in and kissed Addalynn on the lips and she kissed back. Both Winnie and Carrie were able to get the shot they had been taking pictures of the whole thing as well as videos cause their dads were on deployment.
They were stationed at Fort Bragg at the time and had been for 5 years. When their dads came home 6 months later they were both being told that they were moving again. Bucky was moving to Kansas to Fort Riley and Addalynn was moving to Fort Darby in Italy.
They were both leaving the same day and they were both heartbroken and there were a lot of tears. Bucky looked at her and said "I promise you Addalynn I will keep my promises and I will find my way back to you cause I love you."
"I will keep mine too. I love you James please don't forget me." she said
Then they shared one last kiss as they both boarded their planes to go to their new homes.
