"Hoseok! Hoseok!"

Hoseok groaned in his bed. He had been awoken by his biggest fan in the hospital fellow patient Youngjae.

Youngjae leapt on top of Hoseok. "Get up, Hoseok! You said yesterday you would start talking to me, so come on!"

"Ah, fine!" Hoseok sat up, pushing Youngjae on to the floor. "Let me wash and get dressed first."

Youngjae ruffled Hoseok's already tangled hair. "Great! I'll be back in five!"

"No, make it fifteen!" Hoseok shouted after him.

"Can't hear you!" Youngjae called back.

Hoseok hurriedly showered and dressed. It had taken fifteen minutes precisely as he had predicted and Youngjae was bouncing up and down outside the door.

"Hoseok I said five minutes, not 500!" He complained pouting. Hoseok thought he looked adorable.

"And I told you fifteen, Youngjae. So, what are we doing?"

"We're gonna entertain each other."

Hoseok raised an eyebrow, and Youngjae gasped. "Not like that! You're bad Hoseok. This place gets so boring sometimes, and the others tease me a lot. I don't really talk to them much. They say I'm annoying."

"Hmm imagine that." Hoseok grinned.

Youngjae hit Hoseok's hand. "Hey!"

"I'm sorry, you're not annoying just...excitable. So what are the things to do here?"

"Well, we can watch tv, or play a game or take a walk."

"How about we walk? My minds not ready for much else yet."

"It's the meds, Right?" Youngjae nodded. "It can take some getting used to."

"Yeah." Hoseok agreed. He did not tell Youngjae that the reason he hates taking the meds is because of his junkie days. Getting hooked again is not an option, especially not when he has promised Jimin he will get out of here.

Youngjae nudged Hoseok. "Hobi, you okay? Are you spacing? Have I just been talking to myself?" He whined.

"No!" Hoseok lied. "Well, not for long right?"

" you haven't said a word to me in like ten minutes."

"Oh." Hoseok scratched his head. " Sorry, guess I'm just tired."

Youngjae grimaced. "I probably shouldn't have woken you, sorry. I got excited it's nice to talk to someone like me."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm not crazy either. Well, none of us is real. Just sort of more experienced, because we've seen the darker side of life, that none of the 'normal' people has. Our minds have suffered, unable to comprehend it." Youngjae shrugged. "That's how I see it anyway."

Hoseok marvelled at Youngjae. "You remind me of a friend of mine."

"The nurse Jimin?"

Hoseok froze. "What? How did you know?"

Youngjae lowered his head. "Uh, I heard you talking with him. I'm sorry I shouldn't have been listening but, I was shocked to hear you speak, you hadn't spoken a word to anyone other than me since you first got here."

Hoseok sighed relieved. Maybe he had not heard the specific other private conversations with Jimin.

"It's fine, but can you not tell anyone about it? Please, I just don't want anyone else knowing about my friendship with Jimin. Y'know in case they stop him seeing me?"

"Don't worry Hobi." Youngjae winked. "You can trust me."

They continued walking through the hallways, Hoseok was enjoying Youngjae's company, he is so lovely and cute. They passed other patients, but, none of them spoke to Hoseok or Youngjae.

They turned a corner, and Youngjae stopped instantly. He grabbed Hoseok and spun him back around the corner.

"What happened?" Hoseok asked.

"Shh!" Youngjae put a hand over Hoseok's mouth. "Follow me quickly!" He dragged Hoseok down the hallway, he pulled open a door and shoved Hoseok inside. Youngjae slipped inside beside Hoseok and shut the door quietly.

"Youngjae what's going on?" Hoseok whispered.

Youngjae hushed Hoseok again. They stood in darkness, only a little light shining beneath the door. The room was small, like a cupboard. They heard footsteps heading towards them. Youngjae was practically hyperventilating. He held on to Hoseok's hand. The footsteps were very close; they reached the door and stopped. The pair could see a shadow underneath the door. Then the door opened. So painfully slow.
