Taehyung stared at his reflection in the wardrobe mirror. He was dressed in a nice, relatively expensive, black suit. Namjoon helped him put on his white tie. He could see Taehyung was anxious about something, and he decided he had to find out what. As best man, it was Namjoon's job to keep the groom right and on time.
"Taehyung, this is supposed to be your wedding day, not your funeral. Cheer up, man."
Taehyung sighed. "Then why do I feel like I'm making a massive mistake?"
"Apparently, many people get nervous on their wedding day. It's natural. You're about to give yourself to someone that you will spend the rest of your life with. It's a really scary moment."
"No offence to you Joon, but, Hoseok should have been the one by my side right now. Not that I don't appreciate you or anything, you know I'm glad you're here with me."
Namjoon smiled sadly. "I know what you're trying to say Tae. I get it. It's bizarre not having him around, huh?"
"It is." Taehyung swallowed. "It might sound weird but, Hoseok is the one that I hoped would be with me always, for the rest of my life. That we would grow old together." Taehyung's eyes filled up. "Now I just can't see that happening. You know that he hates Honey?"
"Yeah, you mentioned it."
"I read his journal He wrote some pretty messed up shit. He wrote that Honey had threatened him to stay away from me."
"You think it was the drugs making him think like that?"
Taehyung nodded. "I did."
"But?" namjoon signalled Taehyung to continue.
"Well, see, I know what the drugs do to him, Joon. The way he behaves can be erratic but, he never got so nasty. So, I'm not a hundred per cent sure that he was even using again. What if everything he wrote was the truth? He became so distant with me since Honey moved in. I didn't even see him once in a whole month! He would run out of the house for work in the mornings, lock his room door as soon as he got back, would never answer when I called to him. Then I think he stopped coming out of his room altogether."
"Wow, that actually sounds nothing like Hoseok. He can't sleep unless he knows everyone is okay, so him not talking at all, especially to you? That's odd."
"Exactly! It makes no sense. You understand what I'm saying right, Joon?"
"I do. But, Tae...You now have a decision to make. And you have to make it right now. You're about to get married, and if you have doubts...well just make your choice, run or stay?"
"This sucks so bad!" Taehyung whined.
"It sure does. Hey you know Jin works at that hospital now, the one Hoseok is in?"
"No, I didn't! Why didn't you tell me?
Namjoon raised an eyebrow. "Why do you think? So you couldn't pester Jin for information."
"Well, how is he? Is he doing okay?"
"He's uh, had some trouble."
Taehyung frowned. "What kind of trouble?"
Namjoon scratched his head nervously. "Well, Jimin he..."
"What?!" Snapped Taehyung. "What has he done to him?"
"He...raped Hoseok."
"WHAT?!" Shrieked Taehyung. "When? Where is he?""Jimin is in prison, awaiting sentencing. It happened after you stopped going, I think."
"Fuck!" Taehyung ran his hands through his hair. "What else has happened?"
"A friend that Hoseok made in the hospital...uh, he committed suicide, before Hoseok was being discharged."
Taehyung grabbed his car keys from beside his bed.
"Tae, what are you doing?"
"I'm going to see him."
"You can't! You're getting married!"
"Screw that! Hoseok needs me!"
Taehyung charged from the room, Namjoon following behind.
"What should I tell everyone?"
"Tell them it's not happening!"
"Fuck!" Namjoon sighed. "Alright."
