as expected, two knocks from the door resounded in the house. maddy quickly hopped up and ran to the door to greet her anticipated guest.
"h-hi," she spoke softly, opening the door and letting vernon step inside. he took off his shoes and followed maddy into the living room where the tv was already playing some random show.
"what movie should we watch?" maddy asked, grabbing a glass of water from the refrigerator.
"you like scary movies?" vernon suggested. "no, but we can watch one," maddy laughs handing the water to vernon and walking into the living room.
"good, because i love them," he laughed, sitting next to maddy on the couch. maddy looked through the suggestions before coming across a movie that seemed to catch her eye.
it was set, the movie was playing, blankets covered the two, and vernon's arm was curled around maddy's waist pulling her close to him. call it cliché, but to them, it was such a beautiful moment and a great way to spend an official first date.
as expected (or not), there were many jump scares and blood curdling screams that sent maddy lunging into vernon's sweatshirt, hiding from the terrifying demons that were sure to haunt her dreams.
vernon only pulled her impossibly closer, laughing at the adorable reaction maddy got from the movie. once the closing scene appeared, maddy removed her head from its hiding spot.
"that wasn't that bad," she whispered. vernon only scoffed, "yeah, sure."

woah a chapter? i haven't updated this in eight months wow. i'm so sorry for lack of chapters i would always start them and then hated the way they turned out. anyway, this book will probably go on hold for a bit as i'm busy working on other books! i'll make sure to revisit this book frequently and update pre-written chapters as often an i can!
