【maddy walked into her
third period class. as soon as
she sat down, vernon had
messaged her again. she
simply ignored it and marked
it as read. although the text was
actually kind of funny, she didn't want to
waste a laugh on someone like
vernon. for about three minutes the
class waited for the teacher to
arrive. the girls were shouting
about some party and the guys
we're talking about a football game.
neither of those topics sparked
maddy's interest.

the teacher finally arrived
the first thing she did was stand
at the front of the room and quieted
everyone down. "new seats today,"
she said smiling. some of the
class groaned and other
seemed fairly happy to get
away from their seat mates.
maddy on the other hand , didn't
care. the girls all looked at vernon,
all of them hoping they would be
the lucky one that got to sit
next to the cutest guy in the entire school.
however, that was the last thing
maddy wanted. the teacher
began calling names, two
names in a row,
which meant that they sat next to each other.

maddy waited until the teacher
called her name, other then that
she didn't care enough to listen
to other names.
