Making choices

"Sweetie their here!" My mother said I walked down in my gown mom thought I should look nice so she put me in a. Blue that goes into a black, that has sliver sparkle going down, and my hair curled up and a white bow around my waist. My tiara didn't feel right to have on it felt...strange to me.
"Ruby come on we have to meet them!" She said I walked down and saw my mother eyes soften when she saw me.
"You look beautiful today and your necklace matches is that the one your father made?"
"Ya it's my favorite necklace" I said I looked at my necklace it was a heart with a ribbon tied around it.
"Well come on the boys await" she walk in first and seconds later I walked in. I looked around and saw that twenty, twenty! Guys were setting in the dining room. They all were wearing suits in different colors like gray, black, and blue they all looked very nice.
"May I introduce Princess Ruby" I looked to see the announcer talking they all looked surprised to see me. Some of the boys didn't look up until after he said those words.
"Princess Ruby You May take a seat while we introduce the selected." He said
"Thank you Mr. Andrew" I said and had a set by my mother and father
"Introducing Prince Jason" a tall boy with blonde hair stood up and waved so did the rest I watch by one by one do that each time and then came the last person.
"Then we have Mister Axel" He said this time a boy with dark drown hair, leafy green eyes, and a few freckles stood up. His face turned red with embarrassment from tripping a little I giggle a little bit it was funny to see someone nervous around me.
"Princess Ruby we will show them their rooms and you may go to yours if you like" He said
"Thank you once again and I will be going into the garden if anyone wants to join." I said and headed out to the gardens I wanted to see if anyone did show up I saw them come out one by one until I finally saw Axel he looked around like everything was beautiful I hid in the back of the garden to see if they could find me. Finally one bumped into me
"So sorry Princess Ruby I didn't mean to." I think his name is Lucas
"It's alright I was actually wondering who was going to be the first one to find me." I said he looked happy to know he was the first
"Well what would you like to do?" He asked
"What about a walk?"
"That sound wonderful" we started to walk around a little bit until I finally said the first sentence.
"So what made you come here?"
"My family they wanted me to stop working jobs, school, and other stuff. So they made me sign up for this and I thought it would be nice to see who the future queen will be." He said looking ahead but I saw him stare at me a little. His dirty blonde hair moved to the side to not cover his eyes.
"And I know that we are going to have a great one with you"
"Please don't get the wrong idea but did you think that sounded a bit cheesy?" I asked
"Sorry I been growing up with sisters so they tell me things like to to say to a girl" he said
"How many sisters do you have?"
"Four"
"That's a lot to deal with"
"Especially with the boy talk apparently I'm the one to go to when they have boy problems." He said I patted him on the back he was a bit shock by my touch.
"I'm going to talk to the others but if we have time at the end we should talk some more." I said the conversation were weird with some of them it was nice to learn about them and their families. At the end of it I gather up four of them Peter, Max, Jack, and Ethan.
"I am sorry to inform you but you are going to be sent home right away no offense. It was a pressure to learn about all of you." I said sincerely and the guards took care of them. The others were sent to their bedrooms and diner would be serve once everyone was ready I change out of my dress and into a floor length blue dress with a black bow at the side. Once I got there they were all seated and ready to eat.
"Thank you all for waiting I'm sorry I took so long but dinner will be out shortly." I said and sat down at the end I guess mother and father had some work to do. Finally the butlers came out with the plates for them.
Once dinner was over I headed to my bedroom for bed me and my maids chatted about the boys and what rumors they heard about each of them. They finally left and let me go to sleep it was hard because I knew boys were in the castles so I thought of my friends and the good times together to get my mind off of the subject.
"Princess Ruby time to wake up" I open my eyes to see Mary getting me out of bed and get ready.
"Five mor minutes" she giggle and pulled the curtains open so hopefully the sun would get me
"Come on Princess you need to get ready, eat breakfast, and try to learn more about the boys that are selected." She said and I finally dragged myself out of bed and let them get me ready. I walked downstairs and made sure I tried my beat with my high heels on trying to look good. Once I saw no one was around I took them off and walked down peacefully until I was on the last stair case. I saw that the room doors were open and I saw everyone setting down some were chatting some were saying in silents.
"Good morning everyone! I hope you had a good nights rest last night." I smiled until I got to my set I saw some look over at me and smile some I guess were embarrassed so they turned red. I started to eat whenever I saw father walk in he came over and gave me a pat on my shoulder.
"Good morning darling, sorry me and your mother couldn't make dinner last night we had to make arrangements." He said he was looking at all the boys and I knew what he meant now.
"Good morning to you to and it's okay for last night I took care of things." He smiled and ate as we chatted throughout breakfast. Once breakfast was over I waited for them to leave so I could walk to my bedroom. I felt like someone was watching me or something I turned around and found a little bird by the window. I wanted to talk to someone but everyone was gone.
"Excuse me but do you know where Axel Rivermen is?" I asked a maid
"Yes follow me miss" She said and we started walking down the hall we stopped at the end of the hallway so I assumed that this is where he was.
"Thank you" I said back and knock on the door no one answered at first but I knocked again and someone open the door. It was him
"Hello- Princess Ruby I wasn't a expecting you here. Come in," He said and let me through his room wasn't what I expected it to be like it was a cream color walls, with light brown blankets, and with furniture.
"I'm so sorry to come unannounced I wanted to know if you would would walk with me?" I asked he thought for a moment
"Yes that sounds fine do you need a coat before we go out?"
"No,no I'm fine do you?" I asked he smirked at my comment and we took off.
"The garden is beautiful. Don't you think?" I asked
"Yes they are beautiful but not as beautiful as you are today"
"Thank you" I said I felt some blush in my face after that we walked in silents for sometime.
"Why do you wear that necklace?" I said pointing to his moon with a few stars around it.
"It's my sister she wanted me to wear it so I did and now I know why she wanted me to wear it. I miss her a lot but I know she having fun as we speak." I giggled a little before telling him
"I think she sad without you there it may seem like they are happy but once they realize what is happening then they start to miss that person very much." I said he smiled at the thought his sister might miss him.
"Do you have a sibling or a friend that like a sibling?"
"No, no I don't my mother tried to have another child but it was a miscarriage. She was heart broken after that but I think she thought one as plenty. And I do think of my friends as my soul sisters we love each other and would do anything for one another so I guess I have a siblings." I said he looked apologetic for my mother's lost and mine he looked at the roses and lilies I knew he was remember a happy memory of his family or someone close. I wonder what life he had before this and if they were good times or bad. I wonder if he has ever been anywhere else or just stays home. He seemed to be lost in thought, we walked in silents for sometime before I realize it was almost lunch time.
"This was wonderful we should do this again" I said he agreed with me and grabbed my hand he put it up to his lips.
"Have a good day Princess Ruby" He walked off to his room and I stood there until I realize I should get to my bedroom before my maids delivered my lunch. When I got there I found my maids unlocking my door.
"Mary I got that" I said and unlocked the door
"Thank you Miss. How has your day gone?" She asked as she set down my try.
"Pretty good I got to learn a little about one of the boys."
"Do tell What was he like?" Lexi asked
"Well he very nice, sweet, and I think he's very caring but he doesn't like to show it"
"So mysterious" Lexi said she went into my closet and set out a couple of dresses fo the next days.
"Miss Ruby What dress do you prefer?" She was holing up a black dress that went to the knees, with a golden rose pin, with a ribbon around the waist. The other dress was floor length white, with golden sparkles flowing down.
"Um... what about the black one on Thursday and the white one on Friday?" I said
"That's sounds great now time to eat" she said and took the lid off of the tray there was steak, vegetables, and potatoes.
"Looks delicious remember to give Travis my Thanks his food is always wonderful." I said she nodded and headed out the door I saw a slip of paper on the tray, I grabbed it, and started to open it.

Miss Ruby I wanted to know if you would be so kind and join me later on after dinner tonight.

I was amazed that he would ask me first and not the other way around. Spencer, Spencer, ...Spencer I finally remember seeing his face he had freckles all over his face, brown eyes, and tan skin I guess he look nice. Well I guess I had another date to attend to today.
