"So what do you think you should do Ruby? I mean it is your future your talking about" Jessica asked I knew she had a point it was my future but was it my choice to pick who I love and don't love?
"I guess your right but my parents want to gather...other princes." I said she dropped her mouth open and hugged me
"You poor girl my parents said I could marry anyone but you are the lead princess of the country." I hated being the "lead princess" it's horrible but the good news was I didn't have to deal with the big things like Blake's parents and mine.
"You know who you should invite. Wait are they staying with you in the castle? How many are you inviting? Can I come and check them out? Maybe I can find my future husband." She said she kept going on and I try to answer every question but I didn't know half of the stuff either.
Once we got to school we meet with Blake so we could all talk after classes were done. Me and Jessica had flight one together so we could keep chatting.
"Miss Black and Miss Princeton May I speak with you both?" She asked we both nodded and headed out of the classroom.
"You aren't in trouble I just wanted your help with some of the students and your grades are high for a normal high school student. So would you be willing to teach some students after school or in your free time?" She asked I debated the idea I can earn extra credit but I would have less time after school to.
"Would this be everyday or some days!" I asked
"Up to you we can make plans for days and I know you two have...other things to do so it's totally up to you." She said
"Why not?" I said and Jessica nodded
"Oh good thank you girls for your help this will help me with other students. Just come after school to my class and we can get started." We walked into the classroom and continue with the math lesson.
"Lunch!" I said it felt like every teacher wanted help with students today apparently I'm suppose to teach history, math, and music. We all sigh in relief that we didn't have much of school left.
"So I heard Mr. Oscar saying I had to tutor Mason, Jack, Noah, and Liam the quiet kids in class." Blake said I chewed the last of my sandwich and said
"At least you didn't get stuck with Amanda, Olivia, Morgan, and a few boys." I moaned this was the worst thing that could happen right now. We talked and complain about who we got Jessica got her younger sister and her crush we both felt sorry for her. The day went faster then I thought it would music, P.E, and art helped me with my stress I guess. After I was about to get to the front doors I remember that I had to go to math class I knock and heard her say come in.
"Miss Black here are some of the people you will tutor." She said to the back table Morgan, Olivia, and Nick were there. The girls were playing on their phones and Nick was counting his baseball cards or I think they were.
"Hello everyone this is Miss Black and she will be helping you with whatever you need." She said she gave me wink and walked off. Everyone didn't care I was there and then Nick stopped playing with his cards and looked at me with his attention we talked for an hour and it looked like he was learning and understanding.
"Well that was some what fun so Thursday?" He asked
"Sure why not?" I said and walked out of the classroom it was four thirty when I got home and saw my mother and father. I ran upstairs to change before the news men saw me in my school outfit. My maids knew the routine we got my velvet dress on, pinned my hair into a bun, and did my makeup. I fast walked down the stairs they saw me and ran up to me.
"Is it true your looking for a prince?" One asked
"Yes"
"Are you getting married anytime soon?"
"No"
"Will there be a selection?"
"We haven't decided yet"
"Have you jaded for your wedding?"
"No" my father finally showed up at my side and did the talking from there. They finally left and me and my father sighed.
"How was your day darling?" He said and gave me a hug
"Good I'm finally a tutor at school and I have all a's and b's." I said he smile we walked to the dining room where mom was setting at the end.
"Hello mom how was your day!" I asked my dad had a scared look in his eyes I guess I shouldn't have asked that she looked at me with a dreadful look in her eyes saying she didn't want to talk about.
"It was...stressful" she said I didn't want to make her angry or more stress out so I didn't ask about her day. We spoke from time to time and finish our dinner in silence we went our different ways and I decided to go to the garden. The guards let me through without questions the garden always calmed me down it was my safe place. The roses were my favorite red, white, and purple. I remember the times me and father would play hide and seek together I loved it when he scared me and grabbed me by the waist. Mother would play the violin and teach me sometimes when she was finish the music was always wonderful. I smelt the roses and picked one, I put it in my hair I went to the oak tree in the middle of the garden. I laid on the grass and looked at the stars they always got brighter each time I saw them out. I realize that the guards were looking for me.
"Princess Ruby it's getting late do you want me to escort you back to your room?" He said I realize that it was the same guard that I ran into.
"Yes that would be fine thank you" I said and we headed to my bedroom the stairs always hurt my feet so half way there I stopped and took off my high heels.
"Princess I could take your high heels" he said
"No,no it's fine thank you for asking though." I said we got to my bedroom
"Thank you once again for escorting me to my bedroom." I said
"I'm glad to have, good night Princess" he walked off and I went into my bedroom I changed out of my dress and into my night gown. I got my book out I guess that I fell asleep reading I found my book on my stomach and heard my alarm. I put my book on my desk and got ready.
"Good bye mom good bye dad!" I yelled
"Good bye sweetie have a good day" my mom said I went outside and hoped into my car. Before I went to school I stopped by Marcus to get coffee.
"Well, well if it isn't Ruby" He said
"And hello to you to Marcus can I get some coffee to go?" I asked
"Sure let me make you some"
"Thanks" I text my friends to see if they would want some
"Marcus can I get to more and make one a Carmel with one sugar."
"Okay"
"Thank you" ten minutes later he came out with three coffees
"Ten fifty I'm guessing" I said
"Thank you Ruby have a nice day"
"You to Mr.Marcus!" I said and headed to school Blake and Jessica didn't arrive like I plan so I waited outside of my car.
"Um...Ruby" I looked up and saw Damon
"Yes what do you want?" I asked
"I was wondering if you could practice some music with me before school starts?" He asked
"Sure and what do you play again?"
"The violin and don't laugh please a lot of people have laughed"
"No,no I won't laugh it's just I never seen a guys play before let's go" we headed to the music room and we only had twenty five minutes before class so we had to hurry.
"What song do you want to do first?" I asked
"I was hoping to do the Hunting song"
"Okay May I look at the music?"
"Sure" He said and gave me the music I study it for a moment and begin to play I love the rhythms of this songs already my hands moved like they already knew where to go. I looked at Damon and saw him in aw I finally finish the song, Damon gave me a few claps and started to play it I guess he wasn't that good and he didn't like others to look when he was playing. I looked at my phone and saw school was about to start.
"Shoot I got to go!" I said and picked up everything and left. Damn I was going to be late to first flight.
We got to lunch and I got a call
"Hello?" I asked
"Hello Ruby it's mom I want you to know we have seventeen boys picked out" she said I almost felt my eyes pop out
"Seventeen mom how many boys are we having over?"
"We are looking for twenty Ruby give them a chance and we picked some who aren't royalty to make you feel batter." I relaxed a little but twenty! Was a big number but we all have to make choices.
"Okay we can do mom I'll talk to you after school love you" I said
"Love you to" she hung up the phone and I went back to lunch great there the answer was now I was going to have a selection.
