I decided to keep quiet about what I saw on that day. I knew I'd have to ask about it. Just not yet.

It had been a month since Andy's arrival and we had gotten quite close. The hate just got worse. Nobody said anything to me when Andy was around because they wanted to make a "good impression" but when I was alone they attacked me like a pride of lions devouring a freshly killed zebra. I never told Andy about the bullying that I was always receiving but then I never told anyone...

Andy and I decided to hang out on the weekend not at each other's places but just around parks and stuff.

"Do you like it here?" I asked.

"It's alright I guess. You like it here?"

"I hate it here"

"Why?"

"I just hate it"

"I'm sure there's more of a reason then that"

"i don't want to tell you"

"Oh, that's understandable. You may not know that well yet but I just want you to know that you can trust me with anything"

"I'm sorry"

"Why you saying sorry? There's nothing to be sorry about"

"I'm sorry because I don't trust you, I've just been hurt so many times"

"Oh there's no need to be sorry I'm sure you'll be able to trust me one day"

"You think?"

"I'm positive we've just got to get to know each other more that's all."

He gave me a small piece of paper neatly folded. I gave him a questioning look.

"It's my phone number, if you need someone to talk to I'm here" He brightly smiled.

"Thanks" I smiled back.

"So.. I heard next weekend there's a fair going on here and I was wondering if you wanted to go, with me?"

"Uh yeah sure"

"It won't be a date I promise we're just hanging out"

"Okay cool"

-

We played on the playground like little children till dusk.

"Well I'd better get going it's getting dark" I said getting off the swing.

"Let me drive you home, I don't want you walking in the dark"

"Thanks"

"It's the least I can do"

-

It was awkward. And silent. Andy noticed it was getting uncomfortable and so he turned on the radio.

Pop music was blaring out and we both almost had heart attacks. Andy managed to switch it to some classic heavy metal.

"Ah that's better! I nearly went deaf then." I said covering my ears.

Andy laughed.

"What? What's so funny!"

"Oh nothing. You're just amusing that's all"

"Thanks?"

"You're Welcome. This your house?"

"Yes, thank you for the ride by the way"

"No problem. See you at school! Oh and text me when you get in okay?"

"I sure will. Night"

"Night"
