Haku opened his eyes only to see the sleeping bag next to him empty and discarded, sititting up swiftly he raised his alertness, his heart beat violently as he could only think of one thing. Where was kamikage sama?

A serene cool voice drifted through the breeze that had come through the trees, “Calm down Haku, I’m right here” she comforted.

He jumped turning around to see the older woman sitting crossed legged across the campsite with bright, crimson eyes and a small smile on her face that seemed to slightly juxtapose her seemingly chaotic eyes. “It seems like you were rather tired” she began not wanting to be alone for the rest of the night.

“...You should go back to sleep.”

She nonchalantly closed her eyes and straightened her back like she was meditating.

“Kamikage sama please forgive me!” How embarrassing, wasn’t he meant to keep the first watch? He didn’t usually fall asleep when he wasn’t supposed to, so why?

“It’s fine Haku” her smile lightened at his cuteness, “You’re still a growing boy so it’s no surprise that you need more sleep these days” she said referencing his adolescence, she silently wondered if he would forever be this feminine and delicate in the future. More than likely, he would become a player… If she raised him right.

He couldn’t help but blush in embarrassment,  he bowed his head trying to hide his face with his long hair sprawled around him.

She smirked at his shy response before closing her eyes and inhaling, her hair started to turn black and she shrunk a little looking like an Eleven year old. Snapping open her still red eyes had turned an intense navy blue colour.

"Let's pack up and leave Haku" she said standing up to stretch, it had been a while since she had attended a chunin exam. But she needed one more person to join her team, she might have to travel around for a while then.

"Let's visit orochimaru and find out what he's been up to."

Summoning her snake she sent a message to chikagakure asking them to sign her up for the exams under the name of Tsuki Megami, her smile brightened as she thought of the bustling village and Shisui.... Maybe she should buy some water melons for him.

.

Two black haired girls say at the back of a merchant carriage that was part if a rather slow moving entourage as the rain poured down soaking their grey cloaks.

The sound of the pitter patter filled in the silence that came with the gloomy weather. The group of travelers were supposedly all related apart from the two girls that had offered to protect them all the way till the village of grass in exchange for food. The group was heading towards the village if grass for a family holiday, the children of the couple stared at the two girls from inside the carriage.

At first the father of the three children was skeptical of how to little children could protect them but he felt pity for the two as he had assumed they were orphans trying to earn their survival.

The middle aged man looked back at the two that seemed unfazed at the cold drop that had harshly crashed against their skin.

"You two don't have to stay out here with me! I'll soon part the horses and we can stay in the carriages for the night."

One of the girls turned with a genuine smile on her small face, she looked gratefully at the father if the children who were peaking at them.

"It's ok Sawana -san! We're here to protect you!"

He couldn't help but feel happy that such little children were so hard working.

"At least go and have your dinner! The kids have eaten their hearts out and there's plenty left over" he said accompanied with a boisterous laugh.

"Really!?" The other girl asked in excitement, the middle aged man nodded and she swelled up with happiness  "Thank you so much! Sawana-san!"

"Anytime miss Megumi!"

Dragging Haku she jumped down the moving cart and ran to one of the carriages before knocking on the moving door. His wife looked out and smiled at the two before opening it to let the two in so they could dry off and have something warm to eat.

A rather muscular man watched from the tree tops with his signature cow print leg warmers.

.

"Hokage sama..." Shikaku Nara walked in lazily throwing a few files at the Hokage who looked up exhausted, "We have a problem..."

The files that had been flung carelessly were admision request from chikagakure. Minato stared at the name of the village with a frozen face, the feeling of dread rushed through his bones and his fingers shook slightly.

"...Prepare for the worst..."

Shikaku looked at him before shrugging and walking away, Minato had a way of always over exaggerating. He stopped taking him seriously years ago.
