As I lead Alex to History, I noticed she was very fidgety about something. Her eyes flitted around the halls, her finger tapped against her binder, her lips moved like she was whispering to someone.
"You good, Alex?"
She turned red, and nodded.
"Just nervous."
"Hey, it'll be fine. Mr. G is the best, you'll like his class. He's really layed back as well." I said, we turned the corner and I led her into Mr. Washington's room.
"Hey, Mr. G? Can you let Alex sit by me?"
He looked up from his desk, taking his glasses off. Washington stood, making his way over to us.
"Hello, I'm Mr. Washington. Are you new?" He held out his hand. Alex tentatively took it, giving him a shy smile.
"Yes, sir. I'm Alex. And please don't call me by my full name."
"I'll make a note in my roster. Go ahead and get comfortable in the back with Mister Laurens while we wait for the rest of the class."
I led her to the back row, Alex taking the seat in the corner. I sat in front of her, and turned around so we could talk.
"Ya know the Schuylers?" She paled, and nodded slowly.
"Nice. I don't like them, they just try to get into my pants. Minus the yellow one, we all think she's gay." I supplied.
"Oh. I see." She said quietly.
"You aren't homophobic, are you?" I questioned. She quickly shook her head.
"I'm.. I'm bisexual. So, no." I nodded.
"I'm straight, as far as I know. I haven't had a cute guy come around for a while."
Her small smile instantly dropped.
