Covered in guts and blood, we rammaged through the herd of walkers, trying to reach a school. My older sister Malinda, or Mindy for short, went to this school. She was sent here because she vandalized private property and smoked pot. I stopped by an old truck to take a breather and check on Sophia. "Sophia? Are you okay? Are you hurt?" I question, checking everywhere on her body. "I'm hurting really badly, (y/n)." she replies, sitting next to me. I jumped and held onto Sophia as I looked behind me. I heard noises coming from inside the truck. Hazel eyes peered from inside the window, then a whole face was shown. A girl about my age, wearing a worn out blue hat with the letter 'D' on it, she had short curly brown hair that was tied up in a really small ponytail was shown. "What are you here for?" she asks, her arm going behind her back and sliding up. "A new group, supplies. Please, spare me. I have a little girl named Sophia and she needs medical attention!" I shout out. The girl was hesitant at first, then finally replied, "Follow me."

She lead me through large doors and into a big ball-like room. A chubby redhead stood at the grand piano, resting her arm on it and watching us. "Who is that, Clem?" she asks in a harsh tone, pointing towards me. "A random teenaged girl, Ruby. Her little sister needs medical help." "That's...that's my daughter, Sophia." I said, holding her closer. "Daughter?" the girl who I supposed is Clem, inquired. I nod. "Then I suppose AJ is your son, Clementine?" Ruby asks, walking towards her. She looks at Sophia, and I turn Sophia away from her gaze. "Help, she's been bit-" "BIT?" Ruby shouts, backing away. "What the hell is she doing in here then?! Get her the fuck away from here! Abandon that twat!" Clementine puts her hand on her shoulder. "What was she bit by?" Clementine asks softly, but still with a stern tone. "A dog." Clementine smiles softly. "Been there, done that." she replies, looking towards Sophia. "When I was a little girl, probably around eleven or twelve, I have been chewed out by a dog and I patched myself up in someone's shed." she looks away with a sad expression, then looks back up at Sophia, smiling again. "That was one of my old groups until Kenny..." she looks away again. "Let's get you bandaged up. And then after that, you can meet AJ." Clementine offers reaching for Sophia, but I pull Sophia away. I pause for a moment and give her back. "I'm sorry, I have just never been seperated from her before." Clementine looks up at me with a sympathetic expression. "You can come with her. Be there to support her through the stitching. We don't have any disinfectant or any pain killers, so she'll have to bare through the pain." Clementine answers, picking Sophia up in her arms. I follow.

"Hang in there, baby girl." I say, holding Sophia's hand while she screams in terror and absolute pain. "Almost there, sweetpea." Clementine sweet talks, stitching the last section of the deep wound. "Okay, we're done stitching! Now it's time for the bandages!" Clementine wraps Sophia's arm. "Clem? I heard screaming. Is everything okay?" a little boy walks in, head full of curly hair. "AJ! I want you to meet someone! This is Sophia, and her mom-" Clementine looks at me. "(y/n)." I finish, looking at AJ. "(y/n)." Clementine repeats. AJ looks at Sophia. "Wanna color?" he asks. She nods her head. "Sophia! Hold on!" I yell, grabbing her shoulders. "Have fun, I love you, and stay out of trouble!" I say, hugging her. "I love you too, (y/n)." she hugs back. She runs off with AJ. "Mind if we have a little chat, (y/n)?" Clementine asks in a serious tone, locking the door. "Yeah, you may." I say. She motions me to sit down in a chair. "How did you know where we were? Or how did you know about this place?" Clementine asks. "My sister used to go here. I'm looking for her. I figured that she'd be here." I answer, backing up in my chair a little bit. "Who is your sister?" "Malinda (l/n)." She looks at me with furrowed brows. "I have never heard of her." My expression changed to shock. "Fucking god dammit! No!" I yell, knocking over my chair. "Maybe my friends know who and where she is." Clementine speaks up. "Okay," I say calmly, "lead me to them."
