My fight against Breast Cancer

Dr. Price and the nurses were getting me ready for my surgery. Kayla and Edwin were in the room too while they get me ready for this big surgery.

"Kayla I want to ask you a favor."

"Anything."

"If I don't make it. Will you take over the program I started for the cancer patients for me."

She looks down and she has tears in her eyes as from what I could see.

"Don't talk like this."

"Please Kayla. I've worked hard to get this program started and if I don't make this I need someone to take it over from Dr. Price."

"But you are going to make it and you are going to run this program by yourself."

"Just tell me you will if in case I don't."

"I will yes. But you will make this Payton. The surgery are going to be successful."

"My chances are 34%. Not many people survive this K. I need to be sure that the program will be in good hands."

"It will be P. But don't loose hope now."

"I'm not K. I'm just thinking this through too."

"Well stop thinking about you not making it and start thinking about you making this and be cancer free."

"Without breasts yes."

"That's fine. We can get you plastic surgery then."

"Just wait a year before you do that." Dr. Price interrupts.

"Okay." I chuckled.

"We need to be sure it is cured first."

"Okay."

"See there is hope for you Payton. Stop being so negative. You need to be positive in this now. Just one more step to go."

"Yeah." 

"I'm ready if you are ready." Dr. Price says

"Can you give me a few more minutes."

"Sure. Let me know when you're ready to go."

"Thank you."

Dr. Price leaves the room and I hug Kayla and Edwin. I take a few breaths and also prayed. After a while I let Dr. Price know that I'm ready. Dr. Price comes in and I kissed Edwin and gave Kayla a hug. I said them goodbye and they wished me luck.

Dr. Price nods at them and he takes me away to the OR.

I was in the OR and Dr. Price preps for the surgery while the nurses but me out for the surgery. Soon I was out.
