I groaned, having someone like Naruto with his weird combination of ADD, ADHD, meth, and natural energetic-ness was, for lack of a better phrase, drag. At least Sakura was being okay. She seemed, I dunno... mature maybe?

Anyways, as I was saying, Dick for Brains was way too excited. Today we find out how we did in the chunin exams and what we'd be doing in terms of the Sand Village.

He rolled me into the Hokage's office and we were greeted by every Konoha genin team and their sensei. Our sensei was actually on time, looking embarrased. He waved, "they told me the meeting was two hours ago... I got here a minute before you three."

I looked around the room and Asuna winked at me so I gave him a thankful grin and thumbs up.

"Now that we are all here, I'd like to discuss things with you." Hiruzen, the third Hokage said slowly. "First off, chunin promotions." He reached under his desk and pulled out three chunin jackets. "Shikamaru Nara. While you didnt fight in the final rounds of the chunin exams you showed exceptional skill and strategy well beyond your years. You saved the lives of many shinobi and civilians alike when you coordinated the rookie genin, and it is with great pride I grant you the rank of chunin."

Shikamaru walked over and picked it up, "This means I'm gonna have to work harder, huh?" Hiruzen nodded, "What a drag..." he walked back over to his spot by his teammates.

"Neji Hyuuga. You fought alongside jonin and showed both incredible skill and intellect. Your quick thinking and mastery of the jyuuken stopped three men from dying from their wounds when you slowed their hearts. I grant you the rank of chunin." Neji walked over and grabbed his without saying a word, but I could tell something was bothering him. Oh well, right now he's a fucker.

"Sasuke Uchiha... you performed excellently during the final exam, while wounded you defeated four out of six jonin level ninja of which you were wounded while fighting. You obliterated a snake summon and wounded the missing ninja Kimmimaro-," to be fair that was an accident, "-, and Kakashi has given you a glowing recommendation for the anbu program. I grant you the rank of chunin, and if you'll take it I offer to send you through the anbu training program for a single term."

"That sounds awesome!" I replied. then looked up at Naruto. "Mush boy, dont make me whip you."

His eye twitched in annoyance but he pushed my chair to the Hokage and he handed me the flack vest. I looked up at him, "Do I have to wear this to be chunin?"

"No, but most like to show off their rank. At least for a while."

"I'm good, I'm not overcompensating for anything." I cut a look at Kakashi, who didnt even pause from reading his book.

"Hey Naruto?" Sakura asked as we exited the hokage tower. He turned, turning me as well. She had her hands behind her back and was looking down, "Do you think I could push him?"

"Actually, yeah. I gotta go take care of something anyway, see ya later guys." He jogged off, waving... like an idiot asshole. He probably didnt even have anything to do.

Sakura looked up at me and smile, and I'll be honest. In that moment, she looked really cute. It might just be me, but when she wasnt being a Cunt in the anime she was okay, and now because I'm not an emo fucker with a limp noodle dick like the real Sasuke, shes better. Not perfect by any stretch, but better.

We were rolling along before I knew it, curse my inner dialogue for distracting me!

"Sasuke?" I looked up at her, seeing her upside down made me feel weird but I didnt care. "Are you really gonna go through the anbu program?"

I shrugged, focusing back on the road, "Probably. I need to get a lot stronger. With Naruto studying under a Sannin I need to keep up. Maybe we could get you a teacher? Like Tsunade of the Sannin, you could be very powerful."

She stopped so I looked up at her, she had tears in her eyes. "D-Do you really think so?

Great, now I gotta be the good guy...

I stood, groaning the whole way up. Sakura rushed around the chair and tried to stop me, "Hey you're not supposed to be on your feet!"

I put my arms around her waist and hugged her. She was still for a moment before gently returning the hug. "S-Sasuke, I-,"

"Sakura," I interrupted, leaning back to look into her green eyes. Her cheeks were pink and her heart beat was beating so hard it sounded like two... shit... my hearts beating hard too. "Look. You're stronger than you think. Out of everyone in our class I only respect Hinata Hyuuga and you." I left Tenten out, considering she wasnt technically in our class. "You were pretty bad at first, I wont lie to you... but over time you've become a good person and a good shinobi."

Her eyes were wide and I groaned, "Okay, help me back into the chair, my ribs hurt."

She wheeled me the rest of the way to my house and she helped me up the stairs, my arm over her shoulder.

We got into the house and she helped me onto my couch. Then she turned to leave, but I caught her hand. "Hey, uh..." the fuck am i doing? My stomach feels like I'm nauseous. I'm having trouble speaking. "- Uh... I'm still in a lot of pain and... uh..."

"You want me to stay with you?" She asked, eyes wide, vulnerable.

I gave her a sincere smile. I'm an idiot but I'm starting to like her, i think... "Please."
