Haley Goes Missing

Natalie came down the stairs looking pale with dark bags beneath her eyes.

"Natalie, honey what's the matter?" asked her concerned mother.

"Mum, I haven't heard from Haley, and its been two days," Natalie explained.

"I'll phone Haley's mum and check if she's alright," her mother said soothingly.

"Thanks mum," murmured Natalie as she followed her mother into the living room.

As her mother dialled the number, images of all that could have happened, after Haley walked round the corner, flashed through Natalie's mind.

After a lot of murmuring on the phone, Mrs Thomson slowly turned to face Natalie, worry etched into her face.

"What is it mum?" Natalie asked, terrified of the answer.

"Haley's mother hasn't seen her since she was over here, she's called the police and they're out looking for her."

"Oh my.....gawd," stuttered Natalie

The next morning

"Mum!"

"What is it Natalie?" her mother asked. It had been four days since Haley had gone missing. They were driving through town, helping to put up 'missing' posters.

"Over there!" exclaimed Natalie, motioning towards the small arched bridge just outside of the town.

Mrs Thomson could see a large group of people standing in a semi circle on the bridge and grassy bank.

Parking the car into the nearest parking spot, she turned to face her daughter.

"Natalie, if it's Haley, then it can't be anything good," she began.

Ignoring her mother's warning, Natalie exited the car and ran towards the large gathering of people.

"Natalie!" her mother frantically called.

Running after her daughter, she pushed past the people. The moment she saw her daughter's face, she froze.

So short, I know :( I'll work on that. I am so grateful for the reads as I only started this book a wee while back, so thanks again :x
