It was the the day of Haley's funeral.
"Natalie, you ready to go?" her mother asked gently.
"Mum, I miss Haley so much," Natalie mumbled, as she descended the main stairs.
Her mother pulled her into a hug, as the rented car drew up into the driveway.
"That's the car ready for us, you ready to go Natalie?"
Natalie nodded, "Yeah...I guess."
When Ms Thompson and Natalie got in the car, the driver gave them a sheet with a picture of Haley and a speech written by Mrs Norris.
On the way to the funeral, all Natalie could think of was how much she missed Haley, how much she wished she was here, how much she hated the person that did this to her best friend.
Twenty minutes later
The ceremony was held for Haley in a big hall, decorated with roses and pictures of Haley and her family, as well as a few pictures with Haley and Natalie.
It was now Natalie's turn for her speech, standing up she walked towards the make-shift podium, tears streaming down her face as she got ready to say her goodbyes.
"I've known Haley since we were kids, we were always together. For as long as I can remember we were always there for one another, Haley always made me laugh, she was like the sister I never had. When my gran died, Haley was by my side; helping me through the tough time. When I was younger I used to think Haley was my biological sister, as she always stayed over at my house. I know she will now be looking over us and will always he here for us, but nothing, no-one, can ever replace her. R.I.P. Haley, I miss you".
A round of applause, and mumbled sobs resounded around Natalie, as she made her way back to her seat.
After the ceremony had ended, Natalie exited the indoor crying confusion, finding solace in the rain pouring down outside.
"Natalie, you ready to go home?" Ms Thompson softly asked, finding her daughter standing outside in the rain.
Natalie meekly nodded, the rain mingling with her tears.
