Natalie stood in the midst of the growing number of spectators, her mouth open in silent screams, tears streaming down pale cheeks. Pushing past the murmuring and shocked group, Mrs Thomson ran towards her grief-stricken daughter. That was when she saw Haley. Well it didn't look like Haley at first glance, the body had been lying in water for a few days, as well as the body sustaining several injuries.

"Haley..." Natalie murmured, before going limp.

A Couple Stressful Hours Later

"Natalie, Natalie honey, are you listening to me?" Mrs Thomson asked worriedly.

Mrs Thomson, Natalie, a distraught Mr and Mrs Norris, three police officers and a handful of paramedics were in a large room; situated at the back of the police station.

After the paramedics finished calming Mrs Norris, and wrapping a shock blanket around the numb Mr Norris, they signalled to the officers that a few questions could be asked now.

"When's the last time you saw your daughter?" they asked, directing the question at Mr and Mrs Norris.

"Friday afternoon," Mrs Norris whispered, her eyes glued to the floor.

"Just befo...before she went over to...eh um the Thompson's home," Mr Norris stammered, gazing straight ahead, past his interrogators.

"Natalie, can you tell us when you last seen Haley?" a female officer asked gently.

"Hal-ley came to my hou-se on Fr-i-i.....," sucking in a deep breath she continued, "Friday afternoon. She em left at ha-alf ei-eight."

The officer kept asking questions but Natalie couldn't take anymore. Running out of the room crying, she threw herself against one of the whitewashed walls, before crumbling into a small ball. Understanding the grief she was going through, the questions ended for the day.
