Remembering Haley

Natalie was still upset about the fact that ther best friend was murdered only a few days ago, Mrs Thompson always went to check on Natalie every half hour just to see how her daughter was coping.

"Natalie, the school wants you to prepare a speech for Haley as they also are holding a ceremony for Haley, but that is only if you want to."

Natalie didn't speak as she was still crying.

"Mum, I don't want to because the speech I said at the f-funeral is still making me upset and I just can't stop crying and I really miss her6, mum what I still can't understand is that Haley was ho lding a piece of the pearl necklace in her hand.

Natalie walked out the room with her mother following behind her.

"Natalie, where are you going?"

"I just want to be alone in the study, I want to write in my journal and for English we have to write about something that makes us depressed,"

"ohh I see and your going to write about...,"

"yeah and look last week me and Haley made collages, this is a collage of me and Haley when we were little and this one is when we started primary, and the last one is me and Haley starting high school together."

"Aww Natalie these are so good, you and Haley were definetly like sister,"

"yeah we were, well after I've done my English assignments and then I'm going to Haley's grave and I've got flowers, I won't be long and then when I get home I'll just cry into my pillow."

"Natalie before you go can you tell me the plans that you and Haley made for after school if she were still here."

"me and Haley had a plan to finish high school and try and then we wanted to go to University as we wanted to be French teachers, so now I guess I'll just have to do my plans solo, and no-one is ever going to replace Haley."

"Honey of course no-one can replace Haley, okay so me and Mrs Norris were talking about making an ice sculpture of Haley in the school, so people can always remembee Haley, also you can write messages and write how much you miss her etc..."

Mum, I've got an angel who is always looking over me and Haley wil always be there for me."

"Natalie, I know you miss her, i do but she would want you to be strong and go to school, even though Haley isn't going to be a French teacher, she would want you to follow your dream and I have heard you speaking French and you are so good, and when you were sleeping earlier I went to the Mrs Norris'house and asked for pictures of you and

Haley I made you a photo album of all the great memories you and Haley had and I got people to write comments in the front and back of the book,"

"Mum, I love it, thank-you, I'm going to put it on my desk."

"Ohh Haley before I forget Mrs Norris wanted me to give you this,"

It was a necklace in the shape of a loveheart and in the necklace was a picture of Haley and a picture of Natalie.

"Awww, I love it I'm going to go and say thanks,"

"After it would you like to bake that cake as you said you want to bake for the bake sale for the school"?

"Mum thanks for reminding me I almost forget, I just have a lot of things on my mind and I keel forgetting things, Haley was going to bake for the bake sale, she makes the best cupcakes and shortbreads, well she used to,"

Natalie started crying again and her mother hugging her daughter again as Ms Thompson doesn't like it when her daughter cries.

"Natalie, we are going to find out who did this to Haley and if you are up to it then would you go back to the police station and answer a few more questions as they have a few more to ask you but I am not forcing you to go, only go if you want to,"

At that moment Ms Thompson had tears running down her eyes then quickly wiping them away.

"Natalie I'll be downsatirs if you need me I'm going to put dinner on and I will make us both a mug of hot chocolate and I'll add marshmallows and whipped cream if you like,"

"I'd love that."

As Ms Thompson walked downstairs more tears began running down her face as she really missed Haley she was like family and she was just so depressed that Haley was gone and also Haley was a brilliant friend to her daughter.

Natalie was sitting at her desk looking at all the lovely memories that she and Haley had together and at every memory Natalie started smiling and tearing.

"Mum, where are you, I'm starving have you put dinner in yet"?

"Ohh Natalie yeah dinner is in,"

"Mum why are you crying"?
