Chapter thirty one

It was 3 am and I have listened to Justin, Jessica, Alex, Tyler, Courtney, Marcus, Zach, and Ryan's tapes.

I've shedded a lot of tears.But what I feel most is anger.Im so angry at Hannah.So angry for her leaving me.It was really a selfish thing to do, and even worse to leave tapes to people to make them feel bad.

I was on tape 9 and decided to play it.

"Now this tape is for a very special someone.My sister.Violet Baker.You chose him over blood, and that's why you are one of the reasons why I killed myself"She said making me stop the tape for a breather.

I decided I didn't want to listen to this alone.So I called the only person who has really been there for me.

"Hello?"Alex said as he answered the one.

"Hey, Alex"I said.

"What's up?Are you okay?"He asked concerned.

"No.Im on my tape, and I don't think I can listen to it alone"I told him.

"Okay.Ill be over there as soon as I can"He said.

"Okay, thank you, Alex"I thanked him.

"Mmhm, ill see in a bit"He said.

"Okay, bye"I said and then the line went dead.

I just sat there staring at the wall.I just felt empty.Like I was missing something.And that something is Hannah.

About 10 minutes later I heard the door bell ring and so I went downstairs to answer it.

My mom was in the kitchen looking at photo albums crying and my dad was at work.

"Hey"I said as soon as I opened the door.

Alex was puffy eyed like he had just been crying.He looked so broken, hurt.

I couldn't help but pull him into a hug.He started sobbing in my arms and next thing I know we were both crying.

Alex and I have never been close.But I have a feeling Hannah's death is going to bring us closer.

"Im sorry"He said once he pulled away and started wiping his tears away and I did the same.

"Dont be, Alex.But come in"I said and he came in.

"Violet?Who's here?"My Mom asked from the kitchen.

"Alex Standall"I said knowing she knew him from previous times he came over to hangout with Hannah and Jessica.

"Okay, leave the door open"She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Okay, mom"I said and Alex followed me upstairs.

"So this is it"I said opening my door and showing him my room.

"It's really, messy?"Alex said and I laughed.

"Yeah.I haven't really had the urge to clean it, and probably won't for awhile"I said.

"I-I I'm really sorry, Vi"Alex said and you could seen the hurt in his eyes.

"I didn't mean any of it.I didn't think about how dating Jessica would affect Hannah, I just did it.And then when I made that list...I-I was just mad at Jessica, and I wasn't thinking when I put Hannah on there.I didn't really even think she would care as much as she did.I just I could take it all back"Alex said tears threatening to spill.

I grabbed his hand and squeezed it.

"I know, Alex"

"Anyways, should we start listening to your tape?"Alex asked and I took a deep breath.
