AFTER
A knock came to our door and Jimin stood to answer it. When he did my brother stood at the other side. He walked in with his briefcase in hand. "I heard there was a case I could help with." He said.
I nod and stand up. "Hyung...I don't know what else to do..." I say softly. I feel pretty weak as I just got over a good cry going over that god awful memory.
He looked to me with pursed lips before he nodded and set his stuff on the table. "You could have called a lawyer?" He asked.
I shrugged and sat down with him. "I don't trust lawyers."
"Jungkook, I'm a lawyer..." He said with a look.
I gave him one back, he clearly didn't get what I was getting at. "Why do you think I called you in hyung..."
He gave me a sigh. "Mhm...you could have told me what was going on..."
I close my eyes and let out a deep sigh. "Hyung..." I said in an irritated look. "Can we just get on with this now?" He said.
His expression softened as he opened his briefcase and pulled out a notepad. I look to him with a rise of my eyebrows and smile softly. My hyung was going to help me and I honestly couldn't feel more relieved. Jimin, who was watching this whole thing dismisses himself to make tea for the two of us as we begin our discussion.
Eventually, after discussing for a whole hour, my hyung sighed and closed his notepad. He then put his stuff in the suitcase. He then smiled to me which made me feel that similar relieved feeling I was needing. He patted my thigh. "I'm gonna get this to court and see if a judge is gonna be able to help our case. Just remember, just because he claims to have some authority over you that doesn't mean he will win. He killed Taehyung, we aren't gonna let him get away with this." He said.
I smiled tearfully before we both stood, before he could do anything else I give him a hug, which shocked him. He let out a hum though and hugged me back for a bit. "You know, I missed a lot, you've filled out and look actually quite intimidating, little brother." He said as he ruffled my hair.
I chuckle and swat at his hand. "I had to fill out to defend myself from you." I said with a chuckle.
"Smart.." He said with a chuckle before he grabbed his suitcase. "Alright, I should leave and get some work done...just remember, we are at no disadvantage here...the one who actually killed someone is..." He said.
I smiled to him and waved to him as he made his exit. When the door closed after his exit I let out a sigh and turned to Jimin who stood next to me. I smile to him and sigh, "I'm sorry I kept this from you...I was more worried about myself and what would happen, you don't deserve any of this." I said before I turn to him and pull him in a hug.
Jimin let out a deep breath. "As much as I hated you keeping that from me, I am just glad we have an understanding on all of this now." He said wrapping his arms around me while hugging me back. "And now, we can finally get the justice Taehyung deserves." He said as he pulled back to look me in the eye. I let out a shaky sigh and nod before he pressed a gentle kiss to my lips.
"Thank you..." I said simply.
He smiled and nodded. "How about I make your favorite dinner, that always makes you feel better." He said with a hum. I nod as I watch him walk to the kitchen, I've only known him for six months, but he's been there for me ever since I met him at the group Hoseok found. He also was there for me when Taehyung died and it slowly led to me falling in love with him.
It all started with that one day...
BEFORE
I sat with my hands in my hair in stress. It was almost an hour after the whole thing had happened, I wasn't allowed to go anywhere until the cops have left. I had texted Hoseok telling him I needed a friend. He never replied so I could only assume he was asleep and I figured I was going to go through with this alone.
I freeze when I hear footsteps and a soft blanket is placed over my shoulders. It takes me a second before I remove my hands from my hair and look up to who had done it. It was that boy from the group meetings, Jimin I think his name was. I smile softly as he moves to sit next to me. "Hoseok told me..." He said softly as he looked over at me. "Jungkook I'm so sorry..."
I sniffle and shake my head, I basically had no more tears to cry at this point as I had sobbed them all the whole last hour. "Nothing to be sorry about...you didn't do anything."
He sighed and placed his hand on my back. "I can be sympathetic with my apologies."
I sigh and nod. "Yeah...right...sorry...my head is just filled with so much stuff right now."
Jimin nodded in understanding and he rubbed my back soothingly. "I lost someone to something similar to what Taehyung did..." He started and that made me look over to him and rise a brow. "Growing up everyone in my family everyone was happy and I believed that until I had just turned eighteen, my little brother...he wasn't feeling happy like I thought everyone was. My mother found him when it was too late..." He said as he let out a sigh.
I stare at him in shock before I look down. "From the week I knew you...I can tell you that you don't deserve that." I said softly.
He looked to me and gave me a smile. "Same to you...no one deserves to lose someone they love...and from what I know, you love Taehyung..." He said. The fact he didn't say "loved" made me smile and sigh. Before I could say anything else a couple officers walk over and I stand. They ask me a couple more questions and then I was dismissed.
"Do you want someone to walk you home? Or maybe someone to help?" Jimin asked.
I rise my eyebrow before I hum. "I wouldn't mind someone to walk home with..." I said.
He nodded and he took his blanket back softly. "Well alright Jeon Jungkook, shall we?"
I smile softly. "We shall..."
Those words that we spoke, were the ones that started our beautiful relationship.
