YO POV
The next morning, I wake to an unfamiliar room. Some memories of what happened last night forgotten. Others not so much. Pha kissed me. Some guy I didn’t even know.
I sit up and look around the room. I don’t recognize it, but a few pictures on the wall tell me I know exactly who’s room this is…..
“You’re awake.” Pha said coming out of the bathroom in sweatpants and a white t-shirt. His hair still wet from the shower I’m guessing he was taking.
“What am I doing here?” I questioned. I didn’t want him to think he could take advantage of me when I was sleeping. That’s not how this works. Pha laughed and shook his head.
“Don’t worry. I didn’t touch you or anything, except when I was carrying you up the stairs.” Pha said trying to reassure me. Did he carry me? Upstairs? How many flights? I tilt my head and look at his muscles. He really is strong. I mentally slap myself.
FOCUS.
“Why am I here?” I continue to question as Pha began drying his hair.
“You got super drunk last night and I was gonna take you home, but, every time I tried to wake you up, you always ignored me or told me you didn’t know where you lived.” He explained setting his towel down and looking at me. “Nothing happened.” He said. I snorted.
“Except you know the obvious.” I said referring to the kiss. He looked down and I knew he knew what I meant.
“I think it is best if we don’t talk about that anymore and just forget about it.” He said throwing his towel in the hamper and walking back into the bathroom.
Forget about it? He kissed me and is asking me to forget about it? I had absolutely no problem with that. I picked up a piece of paper and a pen off his bedside table to write a note, telling him I was leaving. I grabbed my things and headed to the bus stop to go home. I wanted to take a shower and I needed to get to school quickly.
After leaving Pha’s, I got on a bus and went back to my dorm. I quickly took a shower and got dressed for school.
Ming was waiting for me in the science canteen.
“About time.” He said as I approached the table. I rolled my eyes and pushed him slightly.
“Shut up. I had to go home before coming here.” I explained sitting next to him and taking the water bottle he had bought for me. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.
“Where were you that made you not be able to go home last night?” He questioned. I sighed and shook my head.
“Pha’s.” I answered honestly. Ming laughed and clapped my back. I pushed him away from me and smiled. “Nothing happened. I was drunk and wouldn’t tell him where my dorm was.” I explained. He frowned and pursed his lips before nodding his head.
“He could have just messaged one of us to ask, but he didn’t.” Ming said smiling evilly. I rolled my eyes and stood up.
“I’m gonna go get something to eat.” I said walking backward and not watching where I was going. When I turned around my small body collided with a much larger one. I braced for the impact of my butt hitting the ground but it never came. Instead, arms wrapped around me. When I opened my eyes Ricky was standing in front of me holding me up.
“Good morning.” He said helping me regain my balance. The way his arms wrapped around me made me remember when Pha caught me last night.
“Thanks.” I said trying to pull away from him. It took some force, but he ended up letting go.
“I didn’t see you last night.” Ricky said putting his hands on his hips like he was upset or something. “Well, not until you were being carried out by some guy.” He said. I nodded. I remember what he was saying to his friend in the bathroom. Then memories of the kiss came flashing back.
“Yeah. I didn’t see you either, so I thought maybe you didn’t come.” I lied. Ricky nodded.
“And that guy?” He questioned.
“Pha. He is a friend of Ming’s boyfriend. I was kind of wasted so Pha took me home last night. He was leaving anyway so it was no trouble.” I explained. I don’t know why it was such a big deal to him?
“Just you two?” He asked. Before I could answer Ming jumped up to answer for me.
“Of course not. One of his friends and her other friend joined them.” Ming answered. I nodded in agreement. Even though I had no idea if it was true or not.
“Oh.” He said before smiling wide. “Well, have you thought about tonight.” He asked. I sighed. He was always asking me out and I kept denying him. Why couldn’t he get the hint?
“I did.” I said. I had nothing better to do. What’s the harm? “Sure. We can go out tonight.” I said giving him the best smile I could.
“Great!” He said smiling wide and jumping up and down. “Great, I’ll tell you at lunch when I know the full details.” He said before walking away. I heard Ming laugh behind me so I turned around quickly and punched his arm.
“I swear I will kill you. Don’t make me.” I said threatening him with my fist in the air. He raised his hands in a surrender form.
“Oh, I’m so scarred.” He said teasingly. I punched his arm again, hard.
“You will be.”
