Eliza POV

That night on the ship was one of the most awkward nights of my life. After the battle, Burr talked to Alexander. And soon after their small talk, Alexander came up to me and asked if I wanted to have dinner that night.

Of coarse, I said yes because I was terrified that he would hurt me if I said no.

And if the thought of us having dinner together couldn't get any more awkward, it was only him and I. John wasn't even there, and they have dinner every night together. After the dinner and I was walking back to my room, I asked Peggy if she knew anything about it. She only smirks and walked away, so I know she had something to do with it.

It's been a week since the battle at sea, and since then Hamilton and I got closer. Yes, we always still argued and fought, but half of the time was just us teasing each other. The other half is actual fighting, which is, as Hercules calls it and I agree, stupid arguments. For example, we once fought about how to hold a quill.

Our new "relationship" is weird and confusing, but I do appreciate the fact that he doesn't give me the look of "I'm going to kill you the next time I see you take a breathe". It's more of a "you're a friend, but you're really annoying and a brat, but I like you more now".

I don't know why he's suddenly changed. There's no way that he- Hamilton, the butthead and jerk of the ship- changed in a matter of minutes. Maybe something happened throughout that week of being stuck in my room that made him change. But I guess I'll never know.

But whoever this new man is, I hope he stays here forever.

Alexander POV

Things have changed this past week. My relationship with the brat got stronger. Maybe a bit too strong for my liking. For a decade now, I've been working all the time and taking control and being the leader of groups. I've been trying my best to make my father proud.

I want to make so many people proud now. But the two people I'm stuck between is my father and Eliza.

For a decade, I've only been focused on work. But now I've been almost ignoring that. Anytime I'm working, my mind somehow wanders off and starts to focus on the brat.

**flashback**

A man with a banana tied around his face and ripped clothing took steps towards me. I quickly drew out my sword and started fighting him. His sword crosses my arm, leading a scratch and blood coming out. I groan in pain and place my free hand over it, kicking the man to the ground.

With a bit of strength, I kick the sword away and stab him. He screams and soon closes his eyes. I look around the boat and see more and more dead bodies around.

Peggy comes running up to me, screaming and flinging her arms around.

Peggy- Captain! They got Eliza!

Alexander- What?

Peggy- We gotta do something!

Alexander- I'm sure she'll be fine.

Peggy- Alexander Hamilton!

Alexander- What?! We're in the middle of a BATTLE right now!

Peggy- Yeah! Against Thomas Jefferson: you're worst enemy! And he has Eliza!

Alexander- So what? She'll be fine.

Peggy- Well... if he has Eliza, than he has the necklace.

That's right. He does. He wants the necklace just as much as I do. I stare at his ship. She's laying on the floor of his ship, him staring down at her. She looked at him in complete shock and looked terrified. It honestly broke my heart to see her so sad and scared. But I shook it off.

Alexander- We'll go back, but only for the necklace.

Peggy- Hamilton, are you hearing yourself?! You're only going back for her because of the necklace! Are you actually just going to hand her over to the same pirate that killed her mother?!

Alexander- Sure, why not?

Peggy- You're willing to let someone die just for a necklace! He could even rape her! Do you honestly want someone to get hurt just for you're own benefit??

She screams at me in anger. I look at her in shock. Ever since I've known her, which was about 5 years now, I've never seen her so angry before. I look at the other ship and see him smirking and reaching for her chest.

The next thing I knew, I was running to his ship. He pulls out his sword. She closes her eyes tight. I run faster as he raises his sword. Right as he started to swing it down, I run up and block Eliza, holding my sword against Jefferson's.

He gasps, making me smirk a bit.

Alexander- Miss me, Tommy?

I whisper towards him, making him loosen his grip, giving me the perfect opportunity to kick him, making him fall to the floor and corner him against a wall. I stand over him, holding my sword tightly. He puts his hand in front of him in defense.

Jefferson- Please, let me live! I'll do anything you want!

I look down at him with a glare.

Hamilton- I want you to let the girl go and never come near our ship again.

Jefferson- Yes... yes, of coarse!

Slowly, I put my sword back into it's pocket and turn around. Eliza stared up at me in complete shock, Angelica and Peggy holding onto her and hugging her. I walk towards her and slowly put a hand out for her. She looks at it, and back up at me, hesitantly grabbing it. I carefully hold her small hand and help her up. I smile a bit, but shake it off and let go once she's up.

I turn around and walk back towards the ship, not saying a word. I hear a gasp and turn around, seeing Jefferson with his arm wrapped around her neck and holding a gun against her head.

     That little piece of shit.

I walk to him and start pulling my sword back out.

Jefferson- Take one more step, Hamilton. I dare you. Take another step, and she gets shot.

The second he says that, I freeze in my spot. He smirks.

Jefferson- Now, walk back to your ship.

I don't want to. Not without Eliza. She stares at me in worry. She can't die. She's too young. I slowly walk back to the ship, Angelica and Peggy holding onto my arms. One of his crew mates take off the plank that was connecting our ships. He already won. What can I do?

Jefferson- Well, you just got yourselves in trouble there.

He takes the gun off her head and puts ammo in it, soon putting it back on her head. That little-

     Gunshot.

That sound filled my eyes with fear. I heard it too many times in my childhood. Too many times, that it haunts me everyday. I look at the other side of the ship, but Eliza wasn't hurt. Jefferson was hurt. There was a hole in his head and blood coming out of it. He let go of Eliza and rolled his eyes back, falling to the ground.

Eliza looks at me, but I put my hand up, saying "I didn't do it". I looked behind her and saw a man pointing a gun towards her direction. He was the one who killed Jefferson. One of his own crew members.

I told Lafayette to get a plank. He did as I said and placed it between the two ships. The second it was connecting, I ran to the other ship. I couldn't help but hug her and spin her around a bit.

***flashback over***

I smile at the memory. Not only the fact that Jeffershit was dead, but at the thought of Eliza. The thought of hugging her made me happy. I didn't mean to spin her around that day. Heck, I didn't even mean to run to her and hug her. It was almost like... an instinct.

A/N- I just cleaned out my closet and dresser and I now have very low self esteem because of the fact that literally all my shorts are too tight on me.
