3rd Person POV

Eliza stood there, terrifying that the man in front of her was holding a gun to her and looked serious. Her friends and a few guards started walking to him, but he moved his gun and pointed at them.

James- Stay back! I'm warning you!

They immediately stopped moving and just watched before he pointed the gun back at her.

Eliza- J-James, I don't know why you're doing this, but you need to put the gun down now.

James- No! You're a traitor!

Eliza- How am I the traitor?!

James- You're friends with those.. those things!

Eliza- They aren't things, James! They're human beings that should have the same right as everyone in that audience!

James- No they shouldn't! They're pirates, Elizabeth! People who steal, kill, rape! They aren't humans!

Eliza- Look who's talking! You're going absolutely insane!

James- Well, at least I still have some sense in me!

He said with a dark, creepy laugh. He cocked the gun before taking a few steps back and pointed it directly to her chest.

James- Are you blind, Eliza? They don't deserve anything good for what they do! They don't deserve love, money, affection or anything! So looks like we're both going a bit insane, here.

Her hands started shaking as she tightened her grip into a fist.

James- Any last words?

She couldn't cry. She didn't want to cry in front of her kingdom, her murderer, her best friends. Her last moments on Earth couldn't be of her crying.

She shook her head and looked down, hearing him chuckle and say "of coarse not" and pulling back the trigger, preparing for it to shoot.

There was a body who went in front of her. She looked up and saw Alexander standing there.

Alexander- If you're going to kill her, you're going to take me too.

He looked over his shoulder and smiled before turning back. Another body ran in front of him.

Peggy- Take all of my heart and soul.

And another in front of Peggy. And another. And another.

Hercules- Take all of my joy and love.

Angelica- Take me too.

Lafayette- Because when you mess with Eliza, you mess with us.

She looked in front of her at the long line of the line and saw James slowly putting down his gun. Guards quickly ran to him and dragged him away with her father.

One by one, her friends turned around towards her. She couldn't help it. She let her emotions get into control, letting herself bawl and let the happy tears run down her face.

She ran to them and pulled them into the tightest hug she ever gave anyone in her life. They stayed in the hug for awhile before pulling back with huge, grateful smiles.

Eliza- I-I... I can't... I don't know.. I'm sorry, I can't..

Alexander- I know what you mean. And we love you too.

Eliza smiled more, jumping up and down a bit before jumping back in for a hug.

Eliza- Yeah, I really do love you guys. So, so, so, so much, like words can't describe it. And I'm so grateful for you all.

They parted once more and stared at each other.

Eliza- You're so brave, sweet, and strong. I wish I could be like-

Angelica- Don't even try to finish that sentence Elizabeth. You are so strong, brave and sweet!

Eliza- No, I'm not. I'm an emotional wreck.

John- Do you not understand what just happened?

Eliza- I almost got shot and you guys had to step in to help.

John- But you basically told off your father! That takes guts, and I could never do that to my father. Honestly, your probably one of the strongest young lady's I've ever and will ever meet in my life.

Lafayette- Oui, you have changed so much since the first day we met you, and I'm so grateful to have been a part of your life.

Peggy- We all think that.

Eliza- But I couldn't have changed without you all. I will forever have a part of each of you in my heart. And no one can change that.

—early the next day—

The group of friends looked down at Maria's grave in the kingdom cemetery. Last night after Eliza's coronation, they dug one of their best friends' grave to honor her.

Maria didn't get a proper funeral. It was only the pirate crew, Alex, Eliza, and some guards to keep watch. Even though it wasn't the best or proper funeral, they made sure to pay their respects and made sure to make it special.

Now, the crew was putting extra resources onto the ship and preparing to leave. Eliza stood in front of the ship watching them. She tried to help by giving some of them food and some drinks.

But she couldn't believe that they were now leaving. It made her sad to think about.

She felt someone walking behind her and stand next to her. She looked to the side and up and saw Alexander standing there. He looked down at her as well and smiled.

There was silence for a few seconds of just them enjoy each other's company.

Eliza- I can't believe you guys are leaving. It feels like only yesterday we were at that ball, Angelica presenting you to me.

Alexander- I know. This past month or so has been the best in my life, and probably always will be.

Eliza- Same with me. I don't think I could ever forget what we did together. And I can never thank you enough for the time we've had. Even though for half of the time, we hated each other's guts.

Alexander- Well, thank you for changing me. If I never met you, I'd still be a huge jerk.

Eliza- I mean, you sometimes can be.

Alexander- Shut up.

Eliza fake frowned, causing Alex to chuckle. They stopped talking, but continued to smile widely until John walked to them.

John- It's time to leave, Captain.

Alex and Eliza looked at each other and hugged tightly. They didn't want to separate, but soon John cleared his throat and made them separate.

Alex didn't make eye contact. He only started walking with John to the ship. Eliza followed until he reached the edge of the street.

Once the boys were on, they lifted the ramp and raised the anchor, the boat starting to slowly move out of the harbor.

Alexander walked to the edge of the ship and looked out to Eliza, who stared back in sadness. They both smiled widely at each other as they got farther and farther from each other.

Eliza- Farewell, Captain.

Alexander- Farewell, your highness.

They yelled at each other. The boat drifted out into the ocean, and the two of them watched as the others figure drifted farther away from each other.

A/N- And there we go! That was the final chapter of "Unexpected Love"! I really hope you guys enjoyed this book as much as I did. And don't worry, the second book should come out sometime tomorrow (or maybe even tonight if I find the time).
