Chapter 12

Sarah's P.O.V *flash back*

I was staying with my childhood best friend, Emily back in the US. I was trying to convince my parents to let me stay in America because I just found out that my crush liked me back. It was Emily's older brother. I was so glad that she didn't find it weird that I liked him, in fact she's the one that told me that he likes me. He told her himself they were really close so I could trust her.

Sarah: "Emily you have to help me beg to my parents tonight. If I leave I'll never see Tyler again, and then both of our hearts will be broken." I was whining and complaining to Emily about her older brother it was something I did on a daily basis.

Emily: "Why don't you ask Tyler I'm sure he'd help." She was teasing me all the time about me liking Tyler and it kinda annoyed me but also was kinda funny.

Sarah: "I'm serious I want it to be a surprise to Tyler if I stay." She just rolled her eyes at me then looked back at her phone.

Emily: "You know your parents don't like it when I help you ask for something. You gotta do this one for yourself if you want a yes." She was right.

Sarah: "I'm going to go outside real quick to call them ok."

Emily: "K good luck!" I ran outside and called my mom. I talked to her for a while and she finally said yes. I ran back into the house to tell Tyler and Emily. When I got into the house I heard some in the kitchen so I decided to tell them first. When I got to the kitchen I saw Tyler making himself something.

Sarah: "Hey Tyler guess what!" He turned to me and started speaking.

Tyler: "Your leaving early?" I thought he was joking so I continued to smile.

Sarah: "No silly I'm staying!" His mouth dropped open and I thought it was from shock of how happy he was but how wrong I was.

Tyler: "Oh so your gonna keep annoying me basically." My smile dropped at this point it didn't sound like he was joking.

Sarah: "But don't you like me?"

Tyler: "No who told you that?" This time my heart dropped and tears started to build up in my eyes.

Sarah: "Emily." I heard someone walking into the kitchen from behind me. I turned around to see Emily tears pouring out of my eyes.

Emily: "What's wrong?" She sounded worried.

Sarah: "You lied to me." She just stood there not knowing what to say. I pushed past her went to the door and got my jacket. I was leaving this house right now and never coming back.

Emily: "Wait Sarah! I did it because I didn't want you to leave." I spun around my tears coming out of my eyes like waterfalls.

Sarah: "YOU COULD HAVE JUST SAID YOU WANTED ME TO STAY!" I spun back towards the door and ran out slamming the door behind me. I heard Tyler on the other side of the door before I got too far.

Tyler: "That's fucked up she was your friend." I was at the end of the drive way and I heard Emily scream at Tyler.

Emily: "WHY DON'T YOU LIKE HER?! SHE IS WAY BETTER THAN ANY OF YOUR SLUTS!!!" I kept on crying and crying waiting for my dad to get here. I wanted him to get here faster. He pulled up right when I thought that I jumped in so quick and just told him to take me home. My parents didn't ask me about it at all until we moved to Japan a month later.

*End of Flash Back*

I'm happy that I told Clay the truth. He would have ended up feeling the pain I felt that day. To this day Emily still tries to contact me, but I never answer. I did the right thing.
