I woke up on the floor in my pink hello kitty pajamas. Just as I was about to get up, I heard a flash. I turned around and saw my mom and Jack's mom smiling with cameras in their hands.
Both my mom and Jack's mom are photographers, but they don't have a business, just for fun they tell me.
"Mom what are you doing?" I asked curiously. She lowered her camera from her face to examine the picture then looked back up to me with a smile.
"Nothing sweetheart. I'm sorry for waking you." She laughed slightly, placing the small camera in front of Jack's mom. They laughed and cooed then switched cameras.
"It's okay mommy. Hi Kathy!" I greeted. I call Jack's mom that because it's hard to pronounce Kathren. Katren. Katherine, yeah! Katherine is really pretty. Her hair comes to her shoulder blades and was the dark color of brown.
"Hi sweetie. Can you wake up Jack while me and your mom go in the kitchen?" she asked with a sweet tone.
"For sure!" I say, making my fingers guns, pointing them at my two motherly figures. Me and Jack always do that.
She laughs, "Okay, thank you sweetheart." They walked out of the living room and into the kitchen. When they left I turned to face Jack
"Wakey wakey Jacky." I poked his stomach to wake him up. He didn't budge when I poked him again, so I groaned in defeat and tried something else.
"Come on Jacky." I opened his mouth with my fingers until he moved. Instead, he groaned in responded.
"Hi Jacky!" I giggled, took my fingers out of his mouth and stood up. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes
"Come on lets go play with Jake and Brent!" I jumped up and down, excited to see my best friends again.
"Okay," he yawned and stood up with me. We walked over into the tile floored kitchen and waited patiently for our moms to finish talking.
Jake and Brent are our best friends, but we're basically brothers and sisters. Jake's two years older than me and Jack which makes him seven. He treats me like an older brother and always protects me from bullies at the playground at school.
Brent on the other hand is the same age as me and Jack but he's really funny. His signature face is a scrunched up and looks like he's disgusted. He likes to tell people that me and him are twins since we kind of look alike and act like twins.
"Mom can we go to Jake's house to play with him and Brent?" I asked once she let out a last laugh with Kathy.
"Sure honey, go get dressed and we'll meet you by the door okay?" My mom said sweetly, shuffling across the room to the fridge.
"Okay mom, thanks." I gave her a big hug, well her legs, and me and Jack raced upstairs to my room.
His mom already set some clothes on my bed so he got dressed in the other bathroom while I get dressed in my bathroom. I changed into blue jean shorts and a red shirt with Minnie and Mickey on it. I put on some white sandals with a rhinestone flower on a strap by the toe and smiled.
I stepped onto my stool and fixed my hair by brushing it. My hair was quite long for a five year old my mom says sometimes to my dad, but he's not here that much anymore. It goes down to my lower back and is brown but fades to a lighter brown, like an ombre my mother also says.
I get my toothbrush and brush my teeth. After I finished, I got off the stool and made my way out into my room. I see Jack sitting on my bed swinging his feet back and forth.
"Are you ready?" he asked, clearly excited with a grin on his face.
"Yes, now lets go!" I yell, running out the door and down the stairs with him close behind. Once we got down the stairs, we saw our moms standing by the door.
