Chapter 10 Jacob
I don't know what's gotten her so upset obviously it's something important because we are going to the hospital. I want to comfort her in the best way possible and right now I think she is keen to me holding her. At first she seemed a bit stiff, but now she is relaxed and calmed down.
She tells me about her sister and I can't help but be even more attracted to her. The immensity of things she has been through is crazy and upsets me. She truly is beautiful inside and out.
Arriving at the hospital I see that she has fallen asleep in my arms making the tinniest of snores. Gently waking her up I let her know we are here. That's all I need to say before she hops out of the car. Are runs towards the the main entrance. I pay the cab and head after her walking in I hear her
"Where is Jill brooks?"
"What's the occasion?" She asks
"Do you have an appointment or?"
"I am about to scream if you don't page Jill" she replies and under the circumstances I wanted to laugh but knew better. I love the fire in her.
"Okay ma'am I am paging her now not because you demanded but because I don't want to worry other patients and guests ok?" She scowls
"Whatever you're just lucky I..." She rambles
" Eden, darling how are you?" This tall black women brings Eden into a hug "never mind silly, stupid question to ask" she replies
"I'm fine. Can you tell me what the news is?" Eden asks the woman I now known as Jill the nurse
" well there is no easy way to say this so I'm just going to come out with it ok?" She nervously says
"Ok.." Eden replies with fear written all over her face. I grab her hand giving her comfort and I can automatically see her shoulders relax and she gives me a small smile
"Jenna is in serious need of a kidney Eden. We have been able to put it off for a while but it's not looking good and we can't find a donor" she starts
"How long" she whispers
"I give her a little less than a month if we are being honest" Jill replies
A small sob, but, a sob non the less escapes Eden
"Wait Eden there is one more thing I need to talk to you about"
"Huh?" She sniffles
"We found a match"
Edema eyes light up "who?" She asks
"You, you Eden, and your sister are a match" Jill informs her
"I'll do it" Eden replies without hesitation.
