Chapter 4: Forest Guardians Part 1

?:"Wake up!"

Kentaro opens his eyes to see the man from yesterday.

Man:"You're late"

Slowly lifting his head, he sees other students spying at the doorway.

Kentaro:"Sorry about that. Getting to sleep on a bed was much better than outdoors"

Man:"Hurry up and change into gear. It's behind me"

He turns to the doorway to see the students.

Man:"Stop listening like Shades and get back to whatever your doing!"

The students disburse, leaving Kentaro alone.

Kentaro:"Shades, people who once died and became a spirit/ghost. They live in the shadows and gather information on people of the living. That is if you summon for one to do so otherwise, they live in another dimension called the Underworld"

He stands up and sees three different sets of armor.

Kentaro:"Light armor; it's fast and of course, light but have no real protection against blades. Medium armor; slower than light but faster than heavy though it can take some punishment. Heavy armor; the toughest armor type, can really take a good beating but makes you slow as hell. Best choice for someone like me would be medium I guess"

He puts on the chest, legs, and feet armor. The color was of course to what the Kingdom guards have; green and brown.

Kentaro:"Not typically my style but better than my normal clothes"

He leaves his room and exits the building to see Ms.Luna at the front gate.

Ms.Luna:"About Time. You know being this late will deeply affect the results of whatever you join or not, right?"

Kentaro:"It was just some extra sleep. It's harmless"

Ms.Luna:"You may see it like that but what if you were in a war? Innocent people could be kill just because you wanted some more extra rest"

Kentaro:"Okay, okay. Jeez, relax a little"

Ms.Luna:"I'll relax when you take this seriously"

Kentaro:"I wanted to enjoy my game, my world. Don't kill this for me"

Ms.Luna:"You're test will be to kill a creature that was spotted in the woods of a village nearby"

Kentaro:"If I may ask and not to sound ignorant, why is my test having to kill something and isn't there people who do that already?"

Ms.Luna:"It's to see if you can protect yourself in the field and I want to see how you fight against an unknown enemy"

Kentaro:"Makes sense"

Ms.Luna:"Now then, behind are some weapons. Pick whichever one and get on the carriage"

Kentaro:"I won't be alone?"

Ms.Luna:"You thought you're the only one taking this test right now?"

Footsteps are heard from behind. He turns around to see two guys and a girl.

Guy 1:"The new guy is our teammate?"

Says the brown haired guy, the other two kinda checked on Kentaro.

Guy 2:"Looks like an average guy. You sure you're not wrong Ms.Luna?"

Girl:"You two can't tell but magically, he's different"
